I have two carter releases and two stans and they all work great. If I were you I would go and try all the one’s that you are interested at a local archery store or try your buddies releases and then decide. it starts getting a little expensive if you just pick them b/c of there name.

I like my Scott Longhorn Pro Advantage. Automatically resets, I like the feel of the heavier brass handle. I went with the three finger model.

But like the other suggestions on here … I went a tried a bunch of different brands and styles at the shop and range before I found the one that I like the best.

I voted Carter. They make some of the best releases on the market!

Wonder what Forrest would recommend? :p :^O[/quote:2ldpvrt8]

I believe the best target release with a trigger would be the short & sweet iv been shooting with 1 for a few months now and shot 59 x’s the first time jus after getting use to it. Now i dont ever see changing releases. Good luck on your choice and there cheap too.

I think Im on a never ending quest to find the perfect release, (arent we all).

I use a Loesch True Back Tension, a Scott Longhorn SS III, a CCPorter Mako 4 and a Stanislawski SuperX.[/quote:qzv4ke3u]

I still have the Loesch and the Scott, but my release of choice is the carter ‘Only’, I have 2.. I also use a TruBall ST for when ifeel like shooting a trigger, which isnt very often.
