since reapers cant shoot through netting they are out of the picture so far cus i plan on hunting out a blind a lot next year. i like rage 3-blade cus they can shoot through netting and they pretty much have to open up. but a lot of people like spitfires. do you losed enough k.e. out to 40 yards to make a difference at 57 k.e. and has anybody had a problem shooting through net with them or them not opening on a deer. i plan on using the same head on deer and turkey next year.

    thanks
    john

I have shot both and can only give my opinion. The rage 3 blade has taken 2 deer for me so far.The spitfires ,I haven’t shot them at deer, however while I know for a fact that they kill many deer each season, the blades seem to take quite a bit of force to open upon impact.JMHO [=}=]

I used to shoot the spitfires, I just did not care for them. Went to Muzzys for 3 years and when Rage was introduced I went to them and they do a great job, I won’t switch to any other broadhead

Spitfires are excellent broadheads! Among the folks that I hunt with we have killed dozens of deer with zero problems. They fly great and make huge holes going in and coming out.

I think the Rocket Steelheads are supposed to be okay with netting.

I have zero experience with shooting any BH thru netting much less a mech. However, isnt the GR and Spitfire basically the same design? I know the GR’s blades are a little further from the tip as to try and keep from deflecting at an angled hit.
Also, why would a 3 blade rage work and not the 2? Im very familiar with the 2 blade but arent the blades held closed by the same method (o-ring at the bottom of the ferrule)?
    Just wondering. :thumbup

i would deffinately stick with fixed blades to shoot through netting. but i have shot spitfires since they came out, actually the origional 6 i bought. all i do is change the blades on the ones i shot that season and good to go. have shot through shoulders and everything inbetween all complete passthroughs and huge intrance and exit wounds. :thumbup
