If you only had the money to buy one Dave Smith Decoy, which pose would you buy?

I only had enough money for one, and I went with the lookout DSD hen. The feeder or jake will be next.

Are  you guys that say a jake saying the gobbler will come to a single jake or I would need to buy a cheap hen to go with it.

They will definitely come to a jake decoy because they will see that the jake is in their territory looking to breed one of his hens.  The dominant tom absolutely hates it and will be looking to fight.

In my opinion, the DSD jake shows the best posture and arrogance in any decoy on the market.

And no, buying a hen isn’t necessary BUT adding to your flock gives it more realism and shows that birds are calm in your area.  Hens will work too all by themselves depending on the times of the season…it’s just when they see that jake decoy looking arrogant, it really ticks them off.

Yeah…sorry I could have added more for an explaination for my Jake vote.

The Jake “to me and for me” works the best of any decoy hands down.
Also, if there is no red on the head and/or neck area of my decoy..I add it.
Wow, I have had to defend my decoy…Boom Boom.
The two year olds even attack it with wings going everywhere…lol.

    Hope this helps.

    good luck!!
