Just sighted my thompson center encore in today. dead nuts and ready for next saturday. I love my bow and have had a good season but i hunt for meat and every advantage i can get i take. Love my mathews but love venison just as well. I shoot pleanty with the bow but i am a hunter as well and use the season to my advantage. After 4 deer i will be duck hunting.
I do both,
When late ML comes in the bow gets put up until next season.
Because you’d Never get one within bow range after the 2 slug seasons.[/quote:1zg1syrx]
After dog hunting season began here last week you can forget hunting with a bow in these parts. I do have a private farm that I hunt that the owner will only allow me to use a bow. I appreciate the chance to hunt and honor his wishes gladly. I will always hunt with a bow during blackpowder season instead of changing, but go with the rifle when the time comes. My first choice is always with a bow.

I bowhunt more and more every year and I love it,But there is no better feeling than slipping through the woods with a fine rifle in your hands..and like someone else had said,Once they unleash the hounds around here bowhunting becomes MUCH more difficult.(as if it wasn’t hard enough to start with!)
