I’m looking into getting a new bow press. I am currently looking at the EZ Press EZ Green, or the Bow-A-Constrictor. This will be used mainly for a HeliM, but I want it to be a press that works for future bows also.

I’m a little concerned about how easy it will be to access the cam bolts on the HeliM if I go with the EZ Green. Also, Do you have to remove the cam stop before pressing the HeliM in the EZ Green?

The Bow-A-Constrictor doesn’t look like it will have any issues with access to the cam bolts, however it is a more expensive press.

What do you guys recommend? Any possitives or negatives between the two presses?

    Thanks,

You will not have any issues with the EZ Press and between those two, that’s the one that I would go with. You will not have to remove the draw stop to press. [=}=]

Will the EZ Green press all the Mathews bows, including the Monster series and Chill?

I’ve never pressed the Helim, but the EZ Green comes with four standard fingers and one for the draw stop cams. They state you only need an adapter for two bows and the Helim isn’t one of them.

As you can tell, you don’t have to remove the draw stop and I can tell you from recent experience you will LOVE this press. Bolt it to your bench and you’re set. Put a little pressure on the bow/press and turn the handle two times or so and you’re good. Fantastic! :thumbup :thumbup

Their adapter is only listed for the Bear Attack and Bear Carnage. According to them, it will press any other bow. :thumbup

    Mine with my SBXT:

Bought mine at AT for $389 and free shipping in the lower-48. Not sure if he’s with Last Chance Archery but my press came directly from them.

Are there any opinions on the Bow-A-Constrictor? Is this a good press, or just an AT over-hyped product that is not nearly as good as the hypers make it seem?

Are there any better presses out there than the two I have mentioned…something I may have overlooked?

How come nobody has mentioned the X press….that gets my vote hands down! Also, I thought it was the only press Mathews “recommends.”

Mathews recommends the EZ Press too.

I like the X Press…but I ruled that one out on price. $700 for a base model press is too much for me, especially when the EZ Green will meet my needs for much less.

I am considering the Bow-A-Constrictor because it seems to be a more universal design. Any feed back on this one? It’s a bit more expensive, at $525. That is a big downer for me….but I don’t want to have to buy another press a few years down the road when the new latest and greatest bow that I can’t press comes out. (That’s were I am now. My Apple Pro is great for my Outback I use now, and the Ultramax I used to have…not so good for ANY of the newer bows though.)

For those that have the EZ Green, can you take the bow all the way down safely for a limb swap?

I have done this with my regular EZ Press with no issues. As long as the Green has the same amount of travel then you will be fine. After looking at their website, nothing is noted as to any difference.
