I hunt with 27″ 50# as it is way more than enough for anything on the northAmerica planet. I could pull up to 75# yet, but using that for elk or deer is like taking my 7MM for prairie dogs. A bit of over-kill and not as much fun to shoot.
With my current set up, it has been at 70# but, with the new weight broadheads that I’m getting and arrow weight, I will have to turn my Drenalin down a bit to either 65 or 60# to get proper spine for my arrows.
My hunting rig is set at 70#….. cause I can draw it effectively, in cold temps without any problem……… warm temps, are like buttah..
Pin settles……. TWAP….
Lower poundage will definately do ,or have the same effect. yet speaking for myself…. I am able to shoot that poundage, so I do..
Maybe, down the road, my shoulders will not react the same way as they do now…. The province that dictates the regulations that I must follow, really eases my mind into having a fully loaded X-Bow at the ready.. over corn, and under an Apple tree….
