I vote for the Fred Bear Instinct. My old bow was a Jennings, a cousin of the Bear…. and it was very forgiving and deadly on deer.

The Bear is slightly shorter and faster too. If it were for my son, I’d go with the Browning – for the adjustability on a growing teenager.

I’m a browning person…………a least with their firearms, shotguns, and clothing. I think they’ve got the coolest logo out there, and my wife says it’s about how you look [=}=] :thumbup

I agree. However, everything else being equal, I’m still a little annoyed at Browning for their advertising for their Illusion. “Try the Illusion and you’ll never switch back!” or some nonsense like that. I’m NOT knocking Browning bows (both of my two bows prior to my Mathews were Brownings), I just thought that this particular piece of advertising was a little out of line.

The Instinct has a more parallel limb geometry and weighted cam that should make it a smoother shooter. It also has a slightly higher let-off. Factory limb savers is a plus.

The Browning has 3/4″ more BH.

Personally I’d go with the Bear Instinct.
