I am trying to decide which to go with the whammy or limb driver can anyone help me out.

I have talked and research on both and I like both ideas but for hunting I think the whammy is build a little better just in case a person hit the rest or something . the LD could possibly bend if it got hit.

let me know what you all think it would help me greatly.

thanks again for taking the time with opinions and the poll

I will be using this rest for hunting really only. I am really thinking about the whammy but 3 weeks before the LD was out and I was set on that one but after seeing how well the whammy was build I thought it would fit better for hunting??? am I wrong

I shoot a Limbdriver, and I really don’t want to shoot anything else. I like the design and the fact that it connects to the limb, and it can be used just like a prong rest as well. It is super easy to tune, and set up. And it is built like a tank, even though some may say the prong is flimsy, I don’t think it is… [=}=]

Shooting the LD now and really like it, I believe the spring steel launcher arm provides more forgiveness than the rigid launcher on the Whammy, also it attaches to the limb and appears way easier to set-up and time.

But when hunting season rolls around, I’ll have to throw the Biskit or Muzzy Zero on [=}=]

I agree with everything Andy said except for the WB and Muzzy thing. Im taking the LD out just like now with turkey season. [=}=]

I just recieved my limb driver and love it . The only thing Im not to sure about is the service. As for spot hogg they stand behind there products. Not to confuse you or anything. Good luck. :thumbup

While I voted for the Whammy, I really can’t give any personal experience to either since I’ve never tried them. However, IMO, the reasons I chose the Whammy are: one has been mentioned, it’s well built like the Spot Hogg sights and comes with the Spot Hogg warranty and the other is because I have a problem getting used to the long cord attached to the limb in hunting situations (especially when you have to walk through brush or by low hanging branches…which I’ve done in the dark going to my stand). I have a Whammy on order to test but will have the MZE to fall back to if it doesn’t work out. [=}=]

been shooting a WHAMMY for a month or so and it works great. It is of the design that gives the arrow support for a longer time compared to other drop aways.
Some may, or may not like that. The prongs drop only when the fletchings pass and are supporting the arrow for most of it’s travel on the rest.
    Very nicely made.
The prong rod set screws came loose on mine. I reassembled them with BLUE Loktite and no loosening since.

I have the LD and LOVE it! Before I purchased the rest I wasn’t too crazy about the string, but what do you launch an arrow with? a string! I really don’t even notice the timing string at all ( unless I am looking at my Drens’ profile, and you can’t harvest an animal shooting a bow sideways)
Another thing about the string is EVERY fall-away rest has a timing cable or sting that can possibly get hung up in thick brush. A way to remedy this is to keep your bow against your body while going through thick stuff. The LD set up takes little time and is very simple. I have a friend who shoots a whammy and loves it. and i also have one on order for my Trib. Either way you choose, both rests are rock solid. The main diff. is on the whammy the prongs are always in the up poss. on the LD the prongs rise when the bow is drawn. I think it all comes down to personal pref. Good Luck!

no need to worry about the service……. they more than stand behind their products. and if you have any issues, they’ll be taken care of in a matter of a day. or they’ll walk you through the whole set up process.

i use the limb driver for 3-d and hunting. i hunt some of the nastiest stuff and never once had an issue with the LD not holding up to my torture.
