Joined: 5/16/2006242 Today……….. goal of 230 by December & 215 by next June. That would get me back down to my High School football weight…….. and during this time I also want to lose an extra 10 lbs of “blubber” and replace it with muscle too.
Good Luck To Everyone
Joined: 8/6/2004For those doing Weight Watchers, I have picked up some serious activity points the last two days.
I have almost all of my stuff moved into my new room and I did a chunk of it myself. Katie and two of her friends helped Monday and I moved chairs, stands, 14 boxes and all of my rhythm equipment today. I did a good 3 hours of lifting and moving, so I figure I earned about 8 points. Believe me, I feel it in my muscles and in my bruises!
Nip, my coaching partner had the same surgery in March 2005 and has lost 190 pounds. I looked into having it, but I just couldn’t do it. Kudos to those who need it (like you did) and can handle the changes.
Joined: 3/16/2005Good luck to all of you……………as I put in another post I am nearly to my goal. Started at 221 about 5 or 6 months ago. Now 189….Headed to 185. What ever you all do…………DON’T GIVE UP ON YOURSELVES….YOU CAN ALL DO THIS.
As some of you know, I didn’t do this the old fashioned way…….but with Roux-en-y Gastric Bypass………..not my recommendation if you are otherwise healthy but if you have health problems and willing to make the lifestyle change, then it’s the way to go……….[/quote:1zur0rul]
Did your doctor bring this up Nippers, or did you ask him to have it done, and did your ins cover it? Thanks for the info! [/quote:1zur0rul]
Dr, and Wife’s order. He told my wife that if I didn’t lose the weight, she’d be training a new husband………..needless to say, I didn’t like the sounds of that
It took about 6 months but my insurance covered the procedure. Actually, my wife’s insurance approved the procedure before mine did…..and since we’re double covered, it didn’t cost us a dime out of our pocket……….If it wasn’t for the Diabetes, and HBP, I wouldn’t have qualified………..at least not so easily

Thanks Brett… I really do appreciate the support.
First step is not ripping the refrigerator door off at night and caving to my craving.
So far, so good.
Best of luck to everyone in reaching their goals,

Joined: 7/6/2006I’m a lifetimer at Weight Watchers. I got rid of 100 pounds and have kept it off for 15 years. i went from three packs a day and being the couch potat they wrote the book about. I went to riding a bicycle and my current bike . . . a Trek 720 Multi Track has more than 47,000 miles.
Take it from me the health benefits are well worth it but we still have to pay the price for out less than healthy lifestyles . . . I did.
