Thought I might chime in here a bit.

I’ve struggled my whole life with overeating. Not under-excercising, just eating too much.

I’ve tried about everything there is to try, diet wise, and I really believe that Weight Watchers is the only way to do effectively. All of the rest just get ya down and you are left to go back up again.

WW can be an ongoing thing. It helps you realize it’s okay to occasionally cheat, and to eat what you want…..as long as you make up for it at some other time. Forget the meetings, just get the info on the program and do it yourself. You’ll learn in short time what tastes good and how to use the system.

I’ve been using it (it is the second time) and I’m down 21 lbs. I started June 10 at 255 and I’m at 234. Looking to reach 210 by December. Playing racquetball three times a week helps too!

Hey there guys, glad to see you doing this, like I said earlier, I have lost 80 lb’s, it is not easy changing your life style, but it can be done. Some tips if you would like.
Don’t eat past 6:00 pm, gives your body time to digest your food, and your not sleeping on a full belly.
Drink lots of water. A big trick for me was when I would feel hungry, I would drink a glass of water. Helps your stomach feel like it is full.
If you drink soda, cut way down on it. I don’t drink coffee, and when I was real heavy, I always had a soda. Now I have one in the morning, and that is it.
Excercise, I know this sounds hard, but I made time to start running. You have to start slow, and don’t overdo it, but this will be the fastest way to drop weight. People always say they don’t have time. I made time. I run on my lunch, I run after dinner, the point is, I did it.
Set some goals for yourself. I took a picture of myself with my shirt off, and everytime I had a moment of weekness, I would look at that picture.
If there is anyway that I can help anyone, please ask me. I am not an expert, but I was in your shoes, and know it is hard. Good luck to everyone.

    Congrats on your weight lose!

Thanks for your inspiring words thats the kind of support we need.
I have to agree with you running is a great way to lose those extra pounds. I`ve taken it up but man it`s not natural for me, Ive always been a sprinter not a runner.

I had a 1lb gain at WI (Weigh In), but that was actually a loss. I weighed in on Wednesday mornings all summer, but had to switch to Monday evening (tonight) because the school year is starting and I had to go back as of today. Considering you weigh 2 to 4 pounds more at night, I’ll consider a 1lb gain as a good thing.

I’d like to join but I reached my Dr’s prescribed goal……actually passed it by over 10lbs………not on my own let me tell you. I started at 287lbs about 2 years ago and I’m now at 179lbs…………depending if I’ve taken a poop or peed……..yes, believe it……I had a 4lb poop once.

Went from a size 38pants (no butt) to a size 30…..depend on the make and cut……(even less butt). My shirts went from a sometimes snug 2xl to a Lg, sometimes a Med…………but the thing that my Dr. said would get smaller that made me laugh was my head size……it’s still as big as a ever but I just don’t have all the chins anymore……….I kinda got the turkey jowl going though…….. :-S

As some of you know, I didn’t do this the old fashioned way…….but with Roux-en-y Gastric Bypass………..not my recommendation if you are otherwise healthy but if you have health problems and willing to make the lifestyle change, then it’s the way to go……….I’m diabetic, had HBP, and my Chol was high too……….stroke runs in the family as well……..so with all this my Dr. said that I was probably going to be dead in 5 years………….unless I lost a bunch of weight and got my HbA1c’s under control……….and this procedure seems to have done the job. I’m just hoping that it’s going to last………..I’ve known people who’ve gained the weight back………..I just wanna be around to get old with my wife [-o|

Good luck to all you guys making the effort to get healthy and my positive vibes will be with you all :thumbup [=}=]
