Joined: 10/11/2004Once again, I applaud you folks for your hard work. I have never had a weight problem. Could pretty much eat anything I wanted. But, for some reason things are not that way anymore. Everything goes to my gut and stays! I have dropped a few pounds recently after starting some cardio work. My body screams NO!!!!!!! every time I jump on the elliptical machine. I am finding out that I can’t get in shape a drop a few pounds so easy any more.
My hat is off to all of you!Hmmm…interesting topic. After a major injury and surgery a year ago I went from 110 down to 95 (lots of pain killers, soup and crackers). Now I’m up to 118 and starting to worry about hunting season, I’ll have to carry my own pack and rifle (or bow as things are now). I’ll have to hike a few miles one way to get where I’m going.
Time to make some changes. I must get back into shape and strengthen my foot and leg. No time like the present. Ouch, this won’t be fun.
Joined: 7/28/2007As a big guy myself, I know how hard it is to stay fit (that’s what it’s really about, right?), and it just gets harder as we get older.
So, I too say a big “Congratulations!” for reaping the rewards from all your hard work.Wow, My wife found a Hospital nearby that has a supervied weight loss class/clinic/system. It is very structured. Had to have bloodwork and a ekg and physical. I see the doc every week before the class. We eat their shakes and entrees, I am on like a 600 calorie a day diet, I never really get hungry. It really great so far. My wife is on a far less structured version, she is not supervised every week, and she gets to eat fruit and vegtables. I have been on it for over a week now, 7 shakes a day and 1 entree, I lost 8.5lbs the first 6days, and I feel like I have a lot more energy!
it is a 13 week thing, I might have to do it twice to lose 100lbs, my goal is 80. I started at 266.5 i weighed 257 last night!
It seems expensive, but it really isnt when you figure that we could spend $60 at Outback,and on and on…. we have to buy $88 worth of their food per week….
My wife like it cause she doesnt have to cook! lol
I did find out thru the blood work that my cholesterol is way high, and I will probably be going on Zocor for that… but at least we found out.
So thats my story… we’ll see how it all goes…
Congrats to you all!!! Thats awesome I know how hard it can be. In October I weighed 361 after a diet my doctor recommended im weighing in at 190! I feel great!! Take care

Joined: 8/25/2007I guess I will jump in here to as I started my weight loss program last March 22 when I was 240 pounds.
Currently 195 pounds and my goal is to push it down to 190 pounds. As I have started working out now, the fat is burning off along with a steady diet.

Very nice!Ok, Well so far I have been in this program for 30 days, and I have lost 22.5lbs! Yessss! From 266.5 to 244. And I havnr really even started working out, just some walking. All of my clothes are getting looser too! Hmmmm Now I might have to go buy some new camo! Oh Yah!

i do this diet every year, and lose about 35-40 lbs. by dec.

Just started back myself. Beer isn’t my problem, but the 7 & 7’s are!I did Atkins a few years ago and lost 70lbs. But it came back QUICK!
Now I am doing it the right way, losing almost as fast and it will be a lifelong change for me. Atkins has to be unhealthy for you, i know it works to lose the weight, but not eating fruit or vegtables? That isnt healthy. Good luck to you guys on it!

Joined: 10/31/2005Wow, I cant believe some of the numbers you all are putting up….
I am not an overweight guy by any means but I am definitely lazy which is causing me to get a little “soft”. I sarted running at the gym this week and I hope within a month I will be in good enough shape to get to any of my stands without breaking a sweat. Now I just have to get my dad going. Maybe I should tell him to cut out pop to start, alot of you seemed to see results after trying that.
Keep it up guys-girls this is truly amazing stuff!
