What do you shoot and why?

What do you gain by shooting one over the other?

For hunting how much of a difference does it make?

I shoot Blazers because they work very well in my set up. Oh, and I have and XT and do not have any contact problems. In fact, most people I know shooting an XT with blazers don’t have cable contact problems unless their centershot is set too close to the riser which would show up in paper tuning. [=}=]

I use blazers with my xt with no contact problems. They work great and have no plans on changing any time soon!

Have always shot vanes…but from what I’m hearing, I believe I’ll have to load some Blazers in the jig….let you guys know how it turns out.

Very close to my experience, except I am using feathers. :p

The main reason is IMO the arrow seems to hit closer to p.o.i. if / when I pull the shot if it’s got feathers.
Also, feathers increase f.o.c. I can go with a lighter tip and still have good f.o.c. the difference between Blazers and feathers is 9% vs 10% with the same tip weight (on my shafts).
If tuning required it I would use Blazers.

Never shot anything but vanes, but I’m thinking about trying some blazers this year. I hear great things about ‘em.

I had used vanes in the past but with the wear and tear of them going through my whisker biscuit I looked for something different. On a forum somewhere I saw where someone had recommended using blazer vanes. I tried them and was very satisfied. I just refletched 6 of my arrows with blazer vanes. They seem to shoot very well out of my XT at 20 yards. Hope to start shooting at 30 and 40 yards soon. I hope I have the same results at the longer distances.
