Yea boy! That big one is a VA bruiser!  Any pics of him last year?  He’s definitely 4.5 or 5.5, and I’d lean much more toward 5.5.  Hope ya get a crack at him brother!

3 guys working together to get him and one of us will. I don’t think he is that good or that he is the king but he does look older. His tines seem short but still a little growing left – well see!

Chad, I’m working a new area that is about 1.5 miles from an old swamp area that I have picks of a similar deer but don’t think it’s the same. Just figuring it out and it’s a rather easy spot of only 77 acres so all 3 of us are going to see the same deer and I feel it’s a matter of when and who’s spot he will be in first. Should get this one early – fingers crossed. Guess I’m getting spoiled as I hope one of the others get him BUT don’t worry I will definitely poke a hole in him – just stingy with my buck tags… :)

Have many cams out and will pull SD this weekend for hopes of better bucks! Getting random pics now and hope to move cams around to find how they moving… I’m pretty sure I have at least 1 major bedding area of theirs pegged and if so he will be easy to get. Its very early and many will dispurse…

Working 3 new VA spots this year all have potential. Man is it hard to let the old ones go… as there is some good deer in these places still. Too many good places to hunt – Man what a problem to have :) And who says they have no place to hunt – you just have to work for it, I find stuff every year… but as I said WORK!

I’m with you brother! Running into a good one every now and then is luck, but to consistently put them on the ground is a lot of work, the kind of work I love though.  I’m no Daniel Boone, but I put my share on the ground, and I hear “MAN YOUR LUCKY” all the time…..not exactly, but I say “yep, I’d rather be lucky than good any ol day”! Because just when I think I have one figured out, he’ll feed me a piece of humble pie! I hunt these critters year around, with a weapon in my hands only during season, but I hunt them, study them, and put a lot of work into my properties for them year around. With planting and caring for those 250 seedlings this year, running a dozer for food plot clearings, cleaning up, and now starting to disc and turn some ground for food plots, I’d say I’m upwards of 100 hours on my property just since mid May.  But that’s what I love, and that’s what I do.

Great looking VA buck and also a couple up and comers!  Good luck to you and your hunting partners.  My brother and I still haven’t gotten a shooter buck on camera here in Shenandoah County, I am thinking they are on the neighbor’s soybeans now.
