I haven’t posted a topic¬† in a while. I see a lot of the original members have left since this new forum was put up. I understand that, its a pain.
My dad lost his fight with cancer on July 30th of this year. He put up a long 2.5¬† year hard fight but in the end the disease won. Its been hard. especially with hunting season coming up. hunting and fishing was where me and my dad spent most of our time together. Its gonna be a hard first season for me without him around. My dad wasn’t a very emotional guy. We may have hugged every now and then. But hunting and fishing is where we bonded. My dad wasn’t one to say love you but the smiles on his face when we were in the outdoors said it all. Around May his health started goin down hill more so than was in the past. I could tell the changes everyday I saw him. I think he knew what was happening by some of his comments but he didn’t openly talk about it. then in the end of June he started getting really bad and having days where he would be talking to someone that was really there and then stop that conversation and start talking to folks that weren’t there. around July 4th or 5th the dr gave us the news. He said we could just make him comfortable that he had 1-30 days left. He almost made it the full 30 days. the day before my dad went to hospice we talked about hunting and when I was gonna start planting and getting ready for season and that he needed to shoot the crossbow,¬† I sold my z7x tac to buy¬†so maybe he would atleast get to hunt some during bow season.¬†so I will be using it this year, after all this, there is no spare cash to replace¬†my compound.¬†¬†wish he would have made it to atleast get out one more time before he passed.¬†I just told him ok and let it go. At that point his mind was in and out. I didnt have the heart to tell him the truth and just said ok pop we will get to it. That was the last conversation I had with my pop. the next day he went to hospice and the day after he got there he basicly went to sleep and never really woke up and he passed 5 days later.

I appreciate all the prayers from everyone.  I just thought about it and remembered that I posted several times about my
pop when he was first diagnosed and just wanted to let anyone that was still around from the old forum have an update.
We ust to be a lot closer on here more like a family than things are now since the forum change.
