Deer #’s 4 and 5 were checked in this past Sunday. Both were antlered and between them I got an 8 pointer. They were smallish racks that needed to be culled from the herd. It has been a great archery season here for me, but apparently slow overall, according to my processor. My freezer is getting filled up and I only have one doe left plus a bonus hunt later that could be another doe if I wanted to completely tag out. The Z7Xtreme has been a rock solid performer, as every arrow was a pass through excepting one spinal tap I gave a doe at 30 yards. That one cost me a Gold Tip Pro Hunter and the Slick Trick went M.I.A. as well. My shots ranged from 20 yards to 40 yards, with 35 being the most common.
It appears that rut is just now picking up and I’m all out of antlered tags. The little six I shot had some light battle scars on his neck and chest that appeared as bruising when we skinned him. Hopefully all my hunting friends here experience equally successful deer seasons as well! Thanks for a great community.

Hunt, What part of Oklahoma are you located?
Thanks for the congrats. I went many years hunting hard and getting nothing with bow, but that is where my heart was so I persisted. This year is my comeback season from a shoulder surgery two years ago and a hectic work schedule last year. Feels really great to come back so much stronger and more confident than I went out…
