Do you bring a book to read with you to your tree stand or ground blind? If so what type of literature do you prefer reading while hunting? Fiction, Non-Fiction, Sports, Hunting, etc. etc.

I really enjoy reading while hunting in my stand if there is not much activities going on. I find I can sit a lot longer if I have a book to read vs getting tired an possibly getting down.

Last year I read “Bear Attack” while hunting. But I do have to admit by the 2nd and 3rd day walking in (1 mile) to my stand in the total dark, I carried an extra flash light…. :D

What kind of book(s) do you read, If you found a good one you really liked please post it up. I’m always looking for a new Book…

I just picked up “Death in the Long Grass” for opening weekend… ;)

I voted no to reading while in the tree stand. I just enjoy the sit, day dreaming and whatever. But if I did take a book out to the stand to read it probably would not be “Bear Attack”

I bring hunting magazines. & even have maz rack in my tower blinds.

However, I have had a buddy slip some different ones in using cover from my hunting magazines to my surprize when I opened them. Guess he thinks I need to learn more about the birds & bees then deer hunting.

I do read , mostly murder mysterys “James Patterson” ( chapters only two to three pages. Read a chapter, look and listen , maybe rattle or call.
It can be a problem though if the big boy shows up unannounced. Putting it down, getting the bow, hooking up and shooting when he is there and you never heard him coming.
It is just a choice you have to make. If it happens how bad does it affect you.

Don’t ever think to bring something to read to the stand. I am either asleap in the blind, or on full alert “wathcing for animals” mode. :D

If I bring my camcorder, and am board in the blind, I’ll watch past hunts.

Too busy watching nature to read. Sometimes I do find myself reading the back of my eyelids though. :^O

I don’t read in the treestand.Because I think it’s to much fumbling around. In a blind thats a different story. But when I’m in a treestand I count leaves on the tree I’m in. [=}=]

Most of the time we”ll have some kind of legal game animal I can shoot around there

I see if I can outsmart it, draw back, anchor, get ready and if I dont spook it I feel like I am ready for a deer ;)

I had to vote “no”. When I head to the stand or blind it is for one reason. :whistle

I’m with you on this one, just one more thing to have to get out of the way to try and prepare for a shot

Palm PDA loaded with books, tech documents, Bible, games, etc…

It is small, quiet (sound turned off), backlit (so I can read while waiting for daylight)….
