hellow guys alittle help theres a guy at my shop that wants to trade his new prestige for my new xt what do you guys thin k ?
Joined: 9/27/2005i say no, why would he want to trade? ricky has a good point too.he said he wants a griped bow for hunting sence the prestige is built in to the riser it will be to cold during the winter hunt
and i think he has to much moneyI, too, say no. These XT’s are too sweet. Plus, I think if you need advice, then you are really unsure about giving up your XT.

If you want a little more speed and can handle the short BH then trade after all the prestige is worth a couple of hundred more. Everyone else voted no so I voted yes. But you should definatetly shoot it and check it over very good. No warranty=no big deal after all it is a Mathews. Good luck and tell us what you do.
I think you should shoot it, and decide what works best for you. Don’t forget if you trade you will not have a warranty on the Prestige.
You could always buy a Prestige and have the XT too.

Joined: 11/1/2005I say no, Prestige will be more from critical. I think the XT is a more shootable bow, and more forgiving. And depending on your DL it may be faster. Also a warranty is good, so don’t go off thinking you will never need one, because you never know what will happen.

Not true. I have had to use mine before, and I’m glad I had it. [/quote:321yia00]
Yes but overall I would not be worried about it since I was getting a bow worth so much more money and the trade in value if you do not like it would be great. Yes warranty is nice but if he likes the Prestige better then he should trade.

Not so fast. I’ve got a Q2 that had a limb delaminate. “No big deal” because I’m the original owner and it is a Mathews. Every bow company has bows that develop problems. I’m not blaming anyone but I love the fact that all I had to do was pay for some shipping on the bow limbs to fix the problem. That warranty is a “big deal” to me. It = peace of mind!
That being said, shoot the bow and see if you like it more than the XT! Both bows are shooters!
Joined: 1/10/2006I really don’t buy his reasoning for the trade……..I’d keep the XT and the warranty would be a big issue for me to keep from trading. IMO
If hyou don’t really like the XT, you could see if your pro shop would take a trade if you really want the prestige, that way you’ll get the warranty if you got a new bow as opposed to the 2nd hand one

lol, no big deal IF you are the original owner. in my family we own 5 mathews bows, 3 of them without a warranty. wehave had only one limb failure, fortunately we had warranty on that one. in our club of less than 20 members we have had about 8 limbs breaking in about 5 years, most of them of the Q series (Q2 and SQ2).
