    Why is the peak of your hat all torn up? Do you fall on your face a lot? {#emotions_dlg.mathews_doah}

    To answer your question my Great Northern friend; I don’t fall but I do walk into walls a lot – but I’m having thecataract removed next month (true).

    Now don’t you fell bad????? LOL{#emotions_dlg.mathews_laughing}

    That’s what happens when you wash hats in my washer. The thing beats em’ up good. The black one was pretty dirty so I put it though the wash and the bill got torn up more than it was before washing.

    Did the same with Ol Yeller so now I’m going to hand wash in the future.

    I may just go the duct tape route on the black one. Saw some pretty fancy tape at the hardware last week {#emotions_dlg.mathews_big_smile}

    I wash my hats (hunting and golf) in the dishwasher. Does a great job.

    Hey Jeeper – I’ve heard of washing hats in the dishwasher but have never known anyone who actually did it.
    I suppose you just use dishwashing detergent??
    Does it bleach em out?

    BlackDog….No, the dishwasher does not bleach them out. And, yes, I just use regular dishwasher soap. An old friend of mine got me on to that several years ago and it does a really nice job (especially with golf hats….getting the perspiration stains out after a hot day on the course).

    I have rinsed my hats in the bathroom sink in hot water inside and out and then let it drip dry in the sink. If you do it regularly it does not put the wear on the hat like it does in the washer.

    I soak my ballcaps in warm water and a cap full of Sno-Seal Sport Wash for about 30 minutes, hand scrub, then put them in the washer on Delicate cycle for 5 minute wash and rinse, then hang to drip dry. They last a long time that way.

    I’ll have to give the dishwasher a try, sounds interesting.

    Thanks Professor – I’ll be giving that a try next time round {#emotions_dlg.mathews_thumbs_up}

    Shoot! That hat’s just getting broken in! You’re a regular fashion plate with that lid. You’d fit right in with Lee and Tiffany and all the rest of them big time, movie star hunters!
    It's not how far you shoot, but how close you get.

    Wow! Sometimes you just don’t realize the value of things you have!

    Was at the local Mathews shop Tuesday and looked at the hats. They all had that ‘broke-in’ look. {#emotions_dlg.mathews_big_smile}
    Don’t know about the Lee and Tiffany part, but you’re right – the hat is ‘in style.” {#emotions_dlg.mathews_laughing}

    Now, you just need to wear your jeans so the waste is 5 inches below the top of your butt and you’ll really be in style! {#emotions_dlg.mathews_doah}
