Hack, BA admitted he did not shoot the XT. How can you put down a bow if you have never shot it. It’s no different than me saying that I don’t like the Hoyt whatever when I haven’t even test driven it..
My comment would have been worded totally different if he would have given it a try.
I meant nothing toward the people that have tried and didn’t like.
Should have chosen my words more carefully.

WHOA, WHOA, WHOA!! Where did I “put down” the XT? If you bothered to read my posts, I said FROM WHAT I HEAR/READ the XT is a great bow but it doesn’t interest me ’cause it too short. Or as I said: “it doesn’t interest me on paper”.
That’s NOT a “put down” that’s an OPINION. Big difference.
BTW, if I didn’t like[/i:h7kfywkm] the XT, why would I propose that the “SB XL” have all the features of the XT?!

Should have chosen my words more carefully.

    You got that part right.

Fair enough. But consider this: There are responses from guys that won’t even consider that a SB XL would be a viable choice or that it might handle better than the SB/SB XT. Logic demands that if a 31″ ATA bow “feels” longer, then a 36″ ATA would feel even better.

Guys, no one is asking Mathews to stop making “your” short ATA bows, just to add a machine that will appeal to buyers wanting a new 36+ bow with the new stuff on it. It’s a very vocal market segment.

Like I said before, I’d look at it. Heck, I even considered trading my Trykon for an XT, just to really try it out. I’ve since recovered from that thought :p but it would be hard to pass up a SB XL.

Looking back at this post it would be interesting to know if the guys who voted yes have bought a new bow and what they bought if they did buy a new one.

Personally I have owned a Switchy, an XT, and now have the LD and I’ve never in my life owned anything but a Mathews, but I got tired of waiting for this very bow to be produced. I bought a new bow again this year, but I got a BowTech Commander because it’s pretty much exactly what I wanted as far as specs go. It does have 1 more cam than I wanted, and don’t have the right stickers on the limbs as far as the name but the bow shoots great and I love it. I still have my LD, but I don’t shoot it as much anymore.

Did any of the rest of you guys who are wanting a bow with these specs “jump ship” also because they haven’t offered a bow like this yet?

If you want a longer ata bow that shoots good and is fast, just buy the LX!!! This is the bow you keep explaining on here, minus the really parrallel limbs, which I don’t think it needs.

This is what I did.i use this as my back up to ‘ol switchy. If and when something in the Mathews line comes along with some similarities to the LX then maybe I’ll buy in.As I said I already have a switchback and an LX,I have shot the XT,which I didn’t like it in terms of shortness and the Drenalin is a great bow.It just wasn’t enough of a jump in anything to have me open my wallet this year.As I said in an earlier post somewhere,I waited 30 years to buy the switchback. Will I wait another 30???I don’t think thats a reality for someone my age,but hey you never know. The European market is of course much smaller than the North American market.
And bowhunters are a very small minority even in those countries that allow bowhunting.
Hence, most of the archers here are primarily target and 3D shooters.
Many of these folks are in a bind.
    They like the parallel limbs.
    and want a longer ATA….

    that with the Mathews feel?
