we did have some of those

    I Con
    Q2XL
    MQ1

out of those three bows the one that really ever sold was the MQ1.. [=}=][/quote:2y8ie6gq]

And they were all great bows and thats why “we” don’t understand why Mathews stopped. I really don’t want to go buy a used Mathews from 98 – 02. Plus they are not true parallel limb bows. Not trying to argue Bob, I just don’t understand. :?:

The only hole Mathews has in their line-up,IMO, is the need for a youth hunting bow… :thumbup

I was on the “want a longer ATA bow” bandwagon too. The SB and XT changed my mind. Well, sort of. I can shoot either bow as well as a Protec with LX Pro limbs. The shorter ones hold as easily, physically. Mentally, I think, is a whole nother matter. Have you given an XT a fair shot? You might be surprised. [=}=]

A longer ATA Mathews might convince me to switch brands. It’s a stability issue. I like the Mathews draw cycle, but a longer ATA bow with a little extra weight would hold superbly.

Now slap on a Hoyt grip and you guys would have bigrackHack’s money. :D

In all honesty, I haven’t given an XT a try. BUT, it justs doesn’t interest me “on paper”. I have no doubt it’s a great bow but it’s PHYSICALLY too short for me.

    Exactly.

I bought the first mq1 in this area and kept it until 04 when I bought an Icon. Now I am waiting for Mathews to make a hunting bow with all the new bells and whistles and with an axle to axle length similar to the mq1 or the Icon. I don’t want one of those short bows, I want a Mathews with the specs of a Trykon xl, thank you. ](*,) ](*,)

    Apparantly, low sales. [=}=]

There is a market besides this Forum. Just because X amount of folks on here would like a long ATA bow doesn’t mean that everyone does. This Forum is just a small piece of the market. [=}=] So, how can some people say that Mathews isn’t listening to their customers? Perhaps most of them outside this Forum want a short ATA bow? [=}=] JMO.

I agree. Most folks that want a long ATA bow haven’t even given the “shorties” a try. Besides a packed pro shop and limited time, when I bought my XTEC, a big factor was that it was 36″ ATA. Then when I shot both the Outback and Switchback the next spring, I realized that these short bows felt and held much better than the longer XTEC.

Stability is in the riser Not ATA ;)

    Yes sir.

Oh, I couldn’t agree more. That’s why a 35+ ATA parallel limbed Mathews would be so great. If the riser length on the 31″ XT makes it hold good, the riser length on a longer ATA bow would make it hold MORE stable.

I’ve shot the SB and the XT. Two friends of mine own them. They’re great bows and I’m not taking anything away from the performance, but I personally prefer more weight, especially in the wind. I think a SB XL would be perfect.

Sure, Mathews still makes some long ATA bows, but let’s be honest, most people don’t want to buy “the old stuff” no matter how good it may still be. On every forum I attend, there are many people that are asking Mathews for a longer ATA SB, so it’s not just the majority here.

WHY cant you have a even “LONGER-RISERED” bow: near parallel limbs, sweet BH , equals / a longer ATA … “SB-XL”

AND I’D SAY SHE’D STILL BE VERY “STABLE” :thumbup :thumbup

VERY well said. :thumbup I think I’m just gonna shut up from now on and let bigrackHack handle this. He’s making better points than I was. :whistle
But I think there’d definitely be a market for an “SB XT”. Heck, I even like the way that sounds. :X
But look at it another way, the Mathews (parallel-limb) bows have been getting shorter and shorter, where else is there to go. You think they’re gonna come out with a bow shorter than the XT or Outback? Maybe a nice 28″ ATA bow. ](*,)
I think Mathews only has one way to go and that’s bigger! At least, I hope so…
