What would you do to that ever annoying squirrel that is barking at you??

There is a reason I initatied this poll…. at one of the stands I sat in this weekend was perhaps the smartest squirrel I have ever encountered. I called him the Albert Einstein squirrel because he had a white stripe down his head and bottom… He caught me without moving and wouldnt leave me alone.. Barking at me for at least half the hunt, and more than likely ruining my hunt for the morning… I had my X bow pointed at him numerous times but I didnt want to waste a spitfire on him, but I did have some field points handy that I didnt use.. Oh well, he does it again and hes gravy.. :D

I hate it when they can’t shut up. Sometimes I would like to shoot them but they never stop moving or they stop on a tree or log and don’t want to burry an arrow in those. Maybe a coyote will come looking for him and eat him and I will shoot the yote.

One of my favorite OFF SEASON games is to crush as many as these little suckers as I can with a 100 grain bludgeon point. I have 3 arrows that I painted Blaze Orange so I don’t lose them.

BF has taken out squirrels… Couple with bow.. one with slug..

He won’t shoot when they are in a tree.. he waits until they hit the ground.

I like squirrels. As much as they may bark at me, they also have let me know when deer are approaching.
Most often, they bark at me for awhile, but soon accept my presence and pay me no attention.
At the very least they are entertaining when things are otherwise boring.

I agree. I can’t count the number of times I knew of a deer’s presence before I saw it because my “gaurd squirrels and chipmonks” began throwing a fit.

Agree. They’ll chatter at me if they bust me in the tree, and sometimes it can go on for an annoying amount of time, but they always stop sooner or later and go on about their business.

I don’t think deer pay much attention to squirrels chattering, anyway. Sqirrels seem to chatter for no reason a lot of the time.

If it gets to be too big a problem, a .22 shell is still only about four cents. Although, to keep it legal, you also need the small game license. Either way, losing/wrecking an arrow, or buying a small game license to get rid of one squrrel is steep price to pay.

Then maybe they just don’t like you! It sounds like a personal thing between you and Einstien…I wouldn’t let him live. :^O ;)

I hate em but its nice when things are very boring and they stir a little bit of adrenaline when you hear them scrunching in the leaves but depressing when you finally see them scury up a tree and realize it still wasn’t a deer. I had one growling at me the other day from the tree next to me . We were about 15 yards apart and I just sat there and stared at him until he finally went up and jumped onto my tree and started to come down to check me out. I had to finally twitch my elbow to get him back out of there. I don’t know what they’ll do if you let them come all the way to ya. In my high school years, a few of us were squirrel hunting and somebody made a poor shot. That squirrel came down and chased one guy around the tree about three times and the guy finally went the other way and squirrel went back up. I know, it doesn’t sound believing but was the funniest thing I ever seen hunting. :D
