I was watching the fireworks and I thought about something… Do you think all the people that died all those years ago for us Would be sickened by the way our government controls us now..

What ever happened to freedom and helping another man… Just wonder what your thoughts are…..

Since you asked or a VERY simple answer, I must go with “NO”. Sad but true. [=}=] [=}=]

After re-reading the list of grievances against the “King of Great-Britain” given in the Declaration of Independence:

It’s not about “For the people” anymore. It’s about big business and for the profit. I think they would be sickened at what our government has become.

You have to take things in context, though. Certainly, if the Founding Fathers showed up today, with no knowledge of what has happened over the last 230 years, they would be appalled. The clothing (Franklin would love the bikini’s though), the music, the cars (!), the architecture, etc alone would be quite a shock.

These were wise men who understood that things change. John Adams would probably be the most vocal and read congress the riot act. Washington would want to oversee the war. Jefferson would try to get the White House organized. John Hancock, perhaps the most patient man in the Continental Congress, would take on the role of teacher and try to reducate the government on their jobs. John Dickinson would go after the Supreme Court.
