I do all of my own work on my bows, and many other guys’ bows .I have my own bow press bow scale, arrow saws, fletching jigs,I like doing my own work, that way i know its done right and can only blame myself if anything goes wrong.I have stripped down many rigs and put them back together ,no probs so far.

There are plenty of bow shops i wouldn;t let touch my bow around these parts.

I finished my press a number of weeks ago. I have used it restringing older rigs that had become unusable, so I’m in the learning process.

I can strip my own bow completely down and put it back together. I wouldn’t start on any other bow tough.

I have a press, do all my own work. I stripped down my Hoyt and sent the riser to get powdercoated. I’ve also stripped down my past Mathews bows as well, just to clean them up after hunting season. I would have no qualms doing so for anyone else either. I found the best way to learn, was to do it yourself. It also saves me money in the longrun.

Still counts as a press :^O

Even if you do the ol’ behind one leg in front of the other trick :p

I have a press and can strip down my own bow and put it back together. Might take a while to get it back to spec fiddling with string twists and all though, as I haven’t done it enough times to be a “whiz” at getting all the twists right the first time.

How about this option though. I know a guy who has all the knowledge, but doesn’t have the tools. Everytime he wants to work on his bow, he calls me up and comes over to the house to use my stuff :^O :^O :^O

Like MX9799 I have a press but it takes me a while to get things in spec and if I have any trouble I read through the tech forum to get the info I need or ask and someone here helps me out. :thumbup

I stripped down my XT with help from Brian. That was the best thing I ever did because it made me understand my equipment much better. Now I do all my own work.
