Good luck this weekend Gabe. I bet mentoring your son was awesome. I have a 6 year old daughter I’m hoping to start hunting with soon.
Jessee – yea, we are getting close to the rut up here. Weather has gotten colder lately. Actually was snowing yesterday in southern Wisconsin. Rut should be full on in a couple of weeks.
I got got some good news yesterday. I have a buddy who owns 200 acres in northwest Mississippi. I hunt his place in January. Anyway he bought the adjoining property yesterday. Another 365 acres! He now has 565 acres and is finishing a nice hunting lodge on it. Glad he’s my buddy.Sorry I haven’t checked for a while guys! Between work and hunting I don’t get here much. I haven’t had any luck yet but starting to see a few.
Joined: 4/23/2008Got three does yesterday and today. Killed three in 24 hrsGood job led0321. Looks like we will have 10 points soon.
I will be heading back to Wisconsin next Friday for my Buck hunt. Hopefully I will have some luck finding a big boy. A doe would be nice also. Last year I got both in November so hopefully I will do the same.Way to go Led0321! 3 in 24 hours!?! Awesome. Great picture also.
Location: ALABAMAI would !!I would too! Got any pics of him with his rack fully grown and out of velvet?Well, I would shoot him too, which I did on Friday morning. I have quite a few pics of him and knew exactly which deer it was when he came in. Shot him at 20 yards and he went about 75 yards. He is a regular 10 point with points coming off each brow tine. For our purpose he will score as an 11 pointer.Outstanding Gabe!! Nice buck! Congrats. Got a rough score and weight on him? He’s a beauty.
Location: ALABAMAThat’s great Gabe that would make my season to just see one like that from the standLooks like we are starting to rack up the points. Good job Gabe. With your 16 points and led0123 5 points we should be at 26 total points now. Just have to get the registered properly. I really like deer with mass and it looks like your buck has that. Very nice.chieff15,
Talked with my Uncle today. He told me the deer are starting to move up in Buffalo County. If you can get to the woods this weekend it my be a good time to start hunting.I didn’t get an official weight, but unofficially (buddies looking at him in the back of the truck) he would push 200. I was hunting by myself that morning and had to get him out of the woods and into the back of my truck by myself. Whatever he weighed if felt like way, way more to me. I haven’t measured him up, but he should go 130-135ish is my guess. I’ll get the pic sent in so we get the points. Good luck to you guys. I will continue hunting and hopefully get a doe.
