    Hey Guys,

Been up at my lake cabin in northern Wisconsin the last week and no internet up there.  Anyway, I changed out the trail camera cards on my hunting land on the way up and thought I’d share a couple of pics with you.  Nothing huge, but they might make the hit list.  Have to see where they’re at when done with their velvet.  As for team names, I’m good with either name that you guys have already come up with or I’ll add one more to the list:
    “The buck stops here”

We will give the name a couple more days.  Maybe the other guys will give us a name and then we can vote?

Nice videos! I have one camera that has video capability (Reconyx) but have not turned it on.  How do you like the video function?  I’ve been afraid to turn it on cause I’m afraid it will eat up all the memory.  The camera takes a lot of pictures as it is.  I have a 8GB SD card in it right now.
I will be in Idaho bowhunting for elk starting this saturday for about a week.  Definately no internet service so if you guys decide on a name while I’m out there I’m good with whatever you guys decide on.  Wish me luck….

I am hoping to see something better but I do not have the pictures from the other cameras.  I will share them when I get them.  Every year we generally get a few nice ones so I am hoping for something better than that on the cameras.

On the videos I generally try to set the camera up to take both video and pictures.  I do get lots of pictures and videos.  I have 16GB cards for the cameras that take the high res video.  I also have 4GB and 8GB cards for some of my older cameras that do not take the large files.  All my cameras use 8 AA batteries except my Cuddeback which takes 4 D batteries.  I really like the Moultrie they actually take decent pictures and really conserve batteries.  I can go most of the season with one set of batteries on the older cameras and the new one seems to eat more but this is the first year for them so I am not sure how well they will perform.  With the moultries you need to realize that the trigger speed is slightly less than 1 second, while the new cuddeback is less than a 1/4 second so I think the new cuddeback is nicer but they are much more expensive.  My cuddeback is older and I really do not even like using it because it is so finicky.  I have to read the directions every year to remember how it works and if you do not do it correctly it will not take any pictures.  So I generally do not like using it.  Most of my cameras are Moultries.  I have the new M880 and it takes great pictures and videos. The really cool thing about it is it detects out at 100 feet nighttime and it really works, unlike some other cameras I have seen. I really do not know much about reconyx but all cameras seem to be good now days.   I do have problems with the cameras taking too many pictures or videos and the card gets filled up but that can be controlled if you go get the pictures every once and awhile. In my case every 1-1/2 to 2 months works good.  Generally I will get from 300-1000 pictures and videos on one camera in that time.

What type of broadheads do you use?  I use the grim reapers.  I usually use the fixed blade but this year I bought the expandable grim reapers.   I might shoot my doe with the expandable to see how it works?

    Hey guys,

I’m back out of the mountains. I didn’t get an elk but I had a great time. Saw lots of elk this year – 17 bulls in 6 days of hunting. Had close calls every day but one. I did call in a nice 6 point bull to 12 yards from a buddy of mine but he got busted trying to draw his bow. That’s hunting!
I use the slick tricks too. Been happy with them so far.
Wisconsin’s bow season opened this past season but I probably won’t go for a few weeks. Anyone going deer hunting to time soon?

The slick tricks look very similar to the grim reapers that I use…. only less expensive.  I might have to try them also.  They have the bone crusher for the tip which I really like.  I might have to try them next year.  This year I am all bought with my grim reapers.

    Nice.
