I sent Jessee a PM yesterday.  Hopefully we hear from him some time soon. I think he will get an email notification that he has one. At least that’s the way it used to work. If we don’t hear from him in a few days, I’ll try through the administrator.
Steve – my place is about a mile off Hwy 88 a little south of waumandee on Oak valley Road. Sounds like I’m right between your 2 places. You ever go to the “waumandee house” in waumandee? We hang out there some when we’re hunting.

    Jim,

Of course I have been to the Waumandee house….. who hasn’t?  Generally we spend most of our time down at the Fountain City farm but the deer are so much bigger up in Lincoln township so we go to my Grandfathers farm often.  Funny but my biggest bow buck was down at the Fountain City farm but generally speaking the deer are much more prevalent up near praag.   My grandfathers farm was an original homestead farm so we actually have a road right next to it named after us “Schaub Rd.”  That road borders the farm.  It is right by praag.

Looks like your just south of Schoepps valley off Hwy 88.  Nice.

Our first hunt will be Oct. 12 – Oct. 20.  Second will be Nov. 1 – Nov. 11.  Third will be during gun season but if I do not have a deer with my bow at that time I will generally take the bow out after the first weekend.  I really like that Wisconsin allows the bow hunters out during the gun season.  My first passion is Bow Hunting.  Gun is fun also but it is mostly to get more deer meat for the year.

Good to hear from you too Jessee. Looks like we have a nice variety of hunting areas on our team. I will do most of my hunting in Wisconsin, but I usually go down and hunt some on my buddy’s place In Mississippi in January as well.
Steve – sounds like have some great places to hunt. Have you been to that news place in Praag? I think it’s called buckknuckles. Somebody put a lot of work into that place. I bet I’ve been in the waumandee house when you were there some time. Small world.

    Jim,

We certainly do.  It is family that hunts both farms so we have a great set up.  My Uncle has been in the new place in Praag but I have only gone past it.  It is really nice they fixed that place up as I remember that when I was just a kid on the farm visiting my grandparents.  The snowmobile trails go thru that area and thru my grandfathers farm so it was always a nice place to stop at….  I do not even know how long that place was closed down but it was closed for quite a long time.

    All,

This is the first year I have joined in on this contest.  Does anyone know what the winning point total was from previous years?  Also how do you submit a new entry?  Is there a common area that pictures are downloaded?

Good luck hunting those pigs. That sounds like fun.
Steve – I don’t remember what the winning scores were in previous years so can’t help you with that. As for submitting a deer for score, there’s detail on how to do that in the contest rules post which is on page 3 of the 2013 hunting contest forum.  The rules are usually a ‘sticky’ which keeps it on page 1. Basically you send a pic of you with the deer and your hunting license/tag to Vince. Vince will usually keep a sticky with team standings and he updates it every week or two. There’s also usually a sticky where you can post pics of your deer for all to see. I’m guessing Vince will put those sticky’s up soon.

    Led0321,

I too plan on taking a doe with my early hunt.  If a big one comes by I will probably take it but my first hunt will be for a doe mostly and see if one of the big bucks come by my stand.  We have eight cameras out and I have gotten some pictures back from one of the cameras so far.  So far from one camera I have a nice so so 10 point and several different 8 point bucks.  Should be getting more pictures soon.

Yea.  A bear hunt would be fun.  I’m just not too sure about the meat.  I have heard it is not very good.

I guess that we are suppose to come up with a name.  Maybe we should all give a name and vote on which one we like.

    My name would be:

    BOONERS BUNCH
