Nothing for early doe season, But my cousin landed eyes on about a 100-115 inch 8 point which is a nice deer for our property and one other guy confirmed a couple wall mounters are there, But my luck has turned for the better after the ankle surgery and the drunk driver hitting my truck, My Other cousins are in process of buying 25 acres of prime hunting land. An when I say Prime im talking I’ve seen a 2 1/2 year old on there that was killed and he went 130, two ten points 150 class were killed last year and the owner said there was one bigger. I hope they close the deal here soon cause I cant wait to get tree stands up and start hunting there!Pretty slow here – only on sit this month, weather has been very hot compared to our normal September. Going out Wednesday, should have a good chance at a doe.
Fingers crossed.Hey Guys!
Good Luck the Michigan Opener is today and here I am stuck at work. I have a decent Buck I’ll be going after this weekend. Stay Safe guys! Was out last night with a new bowhunter. Decent 4×4 came by and my friend took it with a great heart shot at 13 yards. It was his first deer with any weapon. He was pretty pumped so I think we have added another one to our hunting ranks. I was looking for a doe, none came by, and the rest of the evening was a celebration for my friend. No points for us but a cool hunt.

Very nice! Glad you and your friend had an enjoyable and successful hunt
Also, nice pics Arrowport53
I’ve only made it out a few times since opener Sept. 14th, primarily due to a demanding job.
Saw a bunch of does and one decent eight under my stand that was enjoyable to watch eating acorns.
I have not received as many pics of my dandy 10 pointer lately, but…..i have high hopes for a daytime encounter on/near Halloween.
I should have the last week in October off to bowhunt followed by a long weekend November 8-11.
Unfortunately, i can only take one deer by bow in my area. Due to work, i have not out of state trips planned this year.
Anyways, hope that each of you is off to a great start to the 2013 bow season.Saskatchewan was a great trip – one encounter with a massive 4×5 with palmation. Did not get the shot. Had many young bucks an does at 13-15 yards but did not want to tag out early. Then on the last day it was windy, deer were nervous and the hunt ended with no solid shot opportunities. Still no points for our team, but hopefully something will happen in Manitoba for me. I have 2 doe tags and a buck tag here. Good luck guys!First two night sits at my good Farm. Saw a bunch of does, one nailed me in the tree at 50 yards. she was up wind, I cant believe she got me from that far out. She didn’t just run… Oh no she came back to investigate… I named her Angela Lansberry for that very reason.. She moved to the top of my hit list this season. She is a security threat, and will be dealt with accordingly. Still fawns with does here in Southern MI, some scrapes but haven’t seen any shooters on the hoof during shooting hours. Any body else do any hunting this weekend???
That is awesome Arrowport….too funny!
I have a few weeks off soon. I love the Halloween time period up until opening gun hunting here in MN. Hope everyone is doing well.
Bookemdano – Glad the trip to Saskatchewan was good.
Ever have one of those days?
Worked 12 hr night shift off at 7am. Think I’ll get some sleep then hunt the evening.
On the way home call my wife she needs me to look at her car when I get home. Spend 1 1/2hr messing with that then get some sleep, wake up 2hrs later just can’t get back to sleep. So I get up check the wind figure may as well hunt. Decide to hunt one spot then 15 minutes later combine rolls in to that spot picking corn. Get set on spot # 2 persimmon grove head out get to that spot to find the strap on the stand has been chewed in two. On to spot # 3 large food plot planted late.
Get in the stand set 45 minutes out he comes at 200yds walks across then turns down the opposite side of the plot. Walks in to about 80yds then turns away into a draw I hit him with 2 grunts on my new Vector call. He turns and comes in to 42yds and gets a rage in the heart, 60yds later he’s done.
Wish these days were closer together.
I’ll get it turned in.2 Heritage Hawks, 2 Heritage Eagles, Heritage Longbow, 3 Custom PXT's, Conquest TriumphAwesome, great shot!OUTSTANDING BUD!!
Nice work and great shot.
