hey buck4um nice buck! you put us in the lead , when do you go to ks., or did you get him in kansas, congrats,

This is a team contest and we need everyone to score – your buck set us up nicely! We need everyone to score this year! I have confidence we will be in the thick of things. I would love to repeat as I was on last years first place team :)

He is a VA deer. Not a stud but I targeted him for the contest… and he had a bonus point on his base that I did not see, but looking back at pics you can see it. Im Trophy Hunting now in VA and have a few targets but they are hard to figure out due to pressure from others. Im as remote as I can be and in his bedroom and hope thats not a mistake.

We leave for KS on 10/29. Will be hunting a new property that has some Studs on it but a bit tough to hunt as its very terrainy… My old property in KS is being hunted by some friends and they are in the thick of things as the property owner has been sending us a ton of med 130 class bucks.

GOOD LUCK TEAM 3 – lets keep this going!

Last night was rough. I was headed to my stand to get gear I leave in tree for my KS trip. I had to go at this time due to no other options. I asked this friend if he was hunting in this area and he said no… then I walked up on him in a tree 55y from my setup. He knew I was hunting there because I gave him a map asking for space… When I walked up he waived me off so I backed out until dark and txt him. He said I’m sorry I did not know I was so close… He then txt 2 nice bucks dogging does directly under my stand then I get the msg I just shot a BIG 10point or better… Well he may have shoulder shot it. I helped him look for it against my advice to wait till am and nothing found. He is going back with tracking dog today. I help everyone but crap like this makes me mad.  Just venting!

Hey guys.  Sorry I haven’t been on for a while.  Working like a dog to get the next 2 weeks free to hunt.  Headed down to deer camp in Coshocton County tomorrow morning.  Will be off the grid for  a couple of weeks, due to limited cell connectivity.

You guys have been tearing it up!!!  Congrats to all of you with deer down.  Should only take a day or two to put a doe down here.  Last week we had small bucks chasing does.  This week should be quite different.  Been seeing a lot of single bucks crossing cornfields in Michigan and Indiana.  Can’t wait to contribute to the team!  Good luck guys!!!

tpaynes2 – That MO buck is a HOG! Great job getting him. Looks like you’re on Fire and I hope you still have buck tags…

Well I’m back from KS and it was a humbling experience that put me in my place for sure. KS has always been easy for me but not this year or on these new properties. The new property is awesome but hard to hunt and access to one side of it is very difficult. We lost a few days to rain and extreme wind but we did learn a lot about it and have high hopes for next year. These deer really used the wind and in this valley it changes hourly so made it difficult to hunt. We had 4 big deer on cams and targeted them. We saw 2 of these bucks but no shots. 2 of them are actually young 3.5 yo deer but no way I could let them go so maybe it’s a good thing they never got close (pics below). There is a ton of 120 class animals and I experienced so much watching them which was so cool. Saw a few fights, rubbing, vocalization, scraping and just about every type of deer interaction you can think about. We picked up a ton of new property while there and hunted one new section and one of our guests hit a 150 but hit it in the back end so we never found it. We let a ton of 120-130 class animals go but me being results oriented I did take a small 120 10-point late and another guest of ours took a 115 9-pt, both small bucks and on a property we may be giving up. Man I already want to go back and may fly in for a long weekend as the bigger bucks were starting to move when we were leaving – go figure.

Still hunting VA and last night had a decent buck stroll thru but no shots.

    Hope you guys are hunting!!!

Top 2 we saw while in stands.
