All right here we go!!! I’m James from VA and hunt VA, KS and sometimes MD. Been very lucky and hope that continues. I did pick up a primo piece of property in KS so will be challenging to figure out but hopes are high. I travel there in a couple weeks to set stands, plots… I should be able to contribute something this year. In VA it’s a guarantee as I have quite a few places full of deer but hey hunting is hunting and don’t want to jinx myself to bad. Anyway I do tend to talk a bit of trash so I apologize up front as it’s all in fun! Happy to be on team 3!!!

    Checked in so far.
    recurve 60 – Southern Illinois
    BOW4UM – Northern VA

Hey guys!  I’m Tom from Ohio.  I hunt private land in both Ohio and Michigan.  Have killed a few nice bucks over the years, so I’m confident  that I can contribute to the team.  Have already hung a few stands, and have multiple cameras out.  Planting a food plot for hunting the winter months in a couple of weeks.  I shoot a DXT and love it.  My buddy and I built an elevated stand on his barn to practice from, which really helps us determine proper angles for tree stand hunting.  Had some of my most exciting moments, though, hunting from a ground blind last year.  Had a brute come into a decoy last November, but light was fading fast, and I couldn’t see my pins.  Oh well, that’s hunting!

Good luck fellas!  You have at least one “killer” on your team in Bow4um.  I had the pleasure of having him on my team last year.  Here’s to a successful season!!

Hey Guys!  Just saw that the teams were set and am checkin in.

I mostly hunt in MD, primarily on the APG Army base with some days also on private land.  Season starts on September 6th, so less than a month away!
This fall I also plan to hunt family property in RI, so could tag deer in multiple states.  Have spotted a few nice bucks on the Army base this summer, so hopes are high.  Last year I tagged a 13 point buck there, but typically we see 6-10 point mature bucks.  I’m good for a doe every year for the contest and a buck most years.  Since I try to shoot 3+ year old bucks it doesn’t always happen though.

WOW looking at past successes we are stacked! Set 5 more cams yesterday and checked 2 but nothing but doe. Went to my #1 spot and it was looking better than ever with all the rain and the old trails… are torn up with some big tracks. I put out a cam there and will check in a week. We get to start shooting Doe on Sept 7 and after shooting 2 doe I get to shoot bonus bucks. Ill try hard to wait till Sept 15 but if he comes in before that I’m gonna hammer him.

Looks like we have just 1 more to check in!

Guess we should get started so here are some obvious questions:

    1) Team name?

A few to start: Bone Bashers, Antler Masters, The Harvesters, Gut Pile Guys, Straight up Slayers.

    2) Can anyone do a banner?

Looking forward to this and just gonna say I have cleared a spot on my office shelf!

Here are a couple more names to consider:  Whack’m & Stack’m, Double Lung Destroyers.

I can do simple banners that are static pictures, but not the fancy moving graphics ones.

P.S.  Haven’t been on a winning team since 2006 – so it’s definitely time for another win!

I’m not particular on a name and Team Whack’m & Stack’m works for me.

Looks like all we need is nrcopen to check in… :)

    I’m also good with Whack’m & Stack’m.  We may have a winner {#emotions_dlg.mathews_thumbs_up}

Getting the Switchback XT back in tip-top shape, with a new cable and string, new drop away rest, and new “light” arrows (for me at least).  Going with Muddy Bloodsport Ht-2 arrows with brass inserts instead of the heavyweight 650+ grain setups that I’ve shot the past five years or so.  Gaining 45-50 FPS over those setups, while still having a great FOC of over 21% in a “light” 445 grain arrow.  Can’t wait to get to the range to get the new setup dialed in with broadheads out to 50+ yards.  I like to practice to 50-60 yards so that a 25 yard shot while hunting will feel much easier.

Also going to try to start shooting the recurve & longbow soon.  Didn’t hunt with them last year but got a doe each of the two years before that with the recurve.
