Anyone have any luck over Thanksgiving?

Yes, but not in the way you meant it!

Early Thursday morning I got a call from my dad telling me he had taken my mom to the hospital earlier with chest pains. He was so emotional and having difficulty speaking clearly, I thought she was gone. Finally I was able to ascertain that she was stable and they were running some tests.

By the time I got to the hospital, she was fine and later that day it was determined that what she had was, in fact, a bad case of acid reflux. They ended up keeping her again overnight Thursday and then released her late Friday morning.

The upshot of the whole thing was that she was also diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. This helped explain some unrelated symptoms she had been having such as some slight dizziness, some elevated blood pressure and some general fatigue. The docs were glad the heartburn brought her in so they were able to discover the diabetes.

So we had Thanksgiving dinner Friday afternoon and were all very thankful she was okay! No problem knowing what to be thankful for, let me tell you! [-o| :D

I hunted over Thansgiving weekend and didn’t see a deer. We’re having our worst season ever on our lease. We average a kill total in the low 30s and we’ve only killed 16 this year. Pigs and the strange weather have made it tough, but Ill be back at it this weekend.

I will hunt when I can until Jan. the 15th. Hopefully I can get a doe on the ground soon. We have had drought for two years, throwing the patterns off. Hope everyone has a good season. :)

I won’t be in the woods much for the next couple of weeks, but I’m off of work for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Years and ill be hard at it. My cameras are getting very few daylight pictures. I’m hoping that the deer will get back to normal patterns since gun season is ending and our temps are getting closer to normal. Our season is open until the end of February, so I can hunt right up until the contest deadline.
