Been out a couple times with very little seen. However I switched my stands this afternoon and pulled the SD card from the camera iI had watching the area and oh boy I’ve got some options. Now if one would just show up.

Filled my 2012 Saskatchewan whitetail tag on Saturday night – my last sit of the trip and my last chance out there for this year – only had two days to hunt.

Friday night I had a close call with a big deer that came out after legal light – I was shut down but I got a chance to see the nice headgear and listen to him crash through the northern bush like a moose. He came across a creek crossing to 15 yards – it was a thrill to see him and know that I had picked the perfect spot, he just moved a little too late.

Saturday night was another great sit, and I took this young deer with a half hour to go in the hunt. Lots of character, made a good quick 18 yard pass-through shot and watched him pile up about 30 yards from my tree. Beautiful evening, should be a tasty young deer, and I am happy with him.

He is a 4×5 but his right side g4 is too short to score.

View from my stand – a bit of a scrap going on!

Glad we could put up some points but more importantly congrats on a nice deer. :thumbup

Have had a rough time in terms of getting a lot of tree time lately due to weather and some corn still standing. ](*,)

Skunked this morning on public land. Quite cold today here – a buddy of mine saw 3-4 good ones moving in another RM. I will be in a ground blind in that area tomorrow – but with 2 doe tags. Next two weekends coming up will be mostly all days sits. So, in my perfect world, doe (or 2) tomorrow then an upgrade buck over the next two weeks. 8D

Just happy to be hunting :D

Hey guys back from my 2 wk vacation to Buffalo County.

Weather was perfect conditions for hunting. Cool, sunny, no wind. Really comfortable for sitting all day. Hunted hard for 10 days. Ended up shooting this 8 Monday night. It is the up close deer in the 5th pic down I posted earlier. Actually thought I was shooting a bigger 8 I had pics of.

WI now allows you to use a bow during the firearms season next week so I’ll be back there for another 9 days looking for something better and maybe another doe or 2.
