Yep.Any advice on what to take out/add to my URL to get the banner to post?Change the
Sorry about that.Hey thx again for the banner, and congrats on a beautiful doe.Thank you all.
The border a bit weird and the names could have been a better font and
brighter color maybe, other than that it’s ok, yup it’s OK. Running out of time
anyway we all are. One can never have enough time don’t ya think?
Well Grave Diggers knock ‘em dead!
Let’s see some posts with dead deer in them.
Best of luck.Had 5 sits since I switched from elk to deer. One with my nephew, saw five does at about 70 yards. It was his first sit in the tree stand after we passed hunter’s safety together (me for the 2nd time). So that hunt was really about making sure he had fun. Pretty sure he did
Next two sits were close calls on does, but the shots did not come together. I did not want to push it, and make a poor shot.
Next two sits involved hot weather with full moon as well, and both were ‘skunks’. However, the sharptail grouse are doing well – spotted a flock of 10-12 feeding in the cut alfalfa field both nights.
Weather here is still too hot, but I will keep you posted.
Joined: 10/18/2008Weather is heating up here to about 77 Thursday but after that it is dropping down into the 50’s. Luckily the place where I hunt the farmer is cutting the corn so that means I can finally get back there.Cooler weather is here. Had a chance at a doe this morning, but was not in the area with extra doe tags. Did not want to use my 1 antlered tag on a doe.
Made that venison taco soup recipe in the recipes section tonight, and I think I might change my mind and become a straight meat hunter. Dang that was good.
Thx to bbeltram for that recipe – really good. Was finally able to get out for the 2nd time this year. Was real windy didn’t see anything in the morning. But had 8-10 out in the bean field I was set up on at night. Shot a doe about 6:30 (3rd doe in my last 3 sits on that stand going back to last year ). Didn’t go 30yds, watched it fall over and was dead w/in 10 sec. Pics are really poor so I’ll wait until I shoot another one with better pics to turn in for the points.
Pulled cards got some nice pics I’ll post up. But only 1 real shooter so far. Will be out again next weekend. Weather is finally cooling down here. Should be able to move cams to scrapes and then I’ll start to get pics of the big boys!Just checkin in.
Looks like you guys are getting ramped up, weather is finally cooling down.
I watched a 6pt go by out of range opening morning Sat., missed a doe that evening just before dark. Had a flock of 20 turkeys check out my decoys Mon. afternoon but laid back. This afternoon found lot’s of new rubs.
I’m on ‘em.
Keep me posted.
Joined: 8/3/2009Tried to go out today, but my son just did not let it happen(teething very badly). Everything is packed and ready to go in the morn. Looks like I got a great wind and my brother drove by and said he saw a buck so keep your fingers crossed.
