    Hey Steve,

Congrats to your son!  Sounds like his first buck with a bow.  I bet he was excited…as I’m sure you were.  I’m headed up on Tuesday for my first hunt up in Buffalo county.  Got some decent ones on camera so hoping to get a crack at a good one.  Good luck to you!

    Jim,

This was my son’s second deer with a bow.  He has only hunted twice with a bow and is 2 for 2.  I certainly cannot say that.

Deer are seeking does it appears to have started today (Sunday)  So get up here as soon as you can!

Well Guys.  I went out hunting at my Uncles farm up in Buffalo County tonight.  It was a little windy and about 65 degrees but that did not stop the big eight pointer from walking past me in my stand.  Shot him at about 30 yards, quartering toward me.  Arrow came out just behind the front leg on the opposite side.  Just about perfect.  But he was at a sharp angle so I only got one lung.  He ran about 200 yards but was really dropping blood all the way.  Kind of surprised he went that far but he did have one lung still.  He just ran out of blood and when I checked at the shot location I quickly new his time on hoof was limited.

So I guess we will have some points on the board now.  I will go out and see if I can get a doe now.  I may go back to my uncles for that as there were several does that I noticed during my hunting over there.

    Steve
