Thats a sweet caribou in your picture, tell us about the hunt![/quote:331v1nyx]My dad and I went on a week long caribou hunt in Sept. 2006. The pilot for Safari Nordik dropped us off at a camp that the migration was just starting to come through. WOW! Everyone should get to experience that at least once in their lifetime! There were literally 1000′s of caribou coming through. When the plane touched down at the lake, the guide told us to grab your guns and go now . I think that was around 5:30. The guide said that we would be fine by ourselves. He told us to look for a “bou” with nice tops. No hockey sticks. ( just a long beam with no additional points) Dad shot one 45 mins after we landed. :thumbup I only took my video camera, but then decided to go ahead and take one myself. ;) We were each allowed to take 2. We each had our first caribous in the first hour. With 6 days left to hunt, Dad shot his second one the next day. (double shovels and back points). With everyone in camp tagged out on our third day there, some hunters were leaving and the guides told me to go where my father was the day before and to take a radio with me. The migration was winding down – still seeing some nice caribou, just not like on the first day. I turned around just in time to see 8 “NICE” bulls coming over the hill. All I could see at first was the antlers!!! I ran ahead of them to cut them off and picked the largest bull I could find. [-o| He was the next to the last one. I dropped him on the first shot but got back up and hit him 2 more times. When I got up to him, I was shocked. Double shoveles, back points, tall tops and heavy mass. I hiked back to camp with my orange cap on the animal and picked up a guide to go back. They scored it back at camp by taking the weakest side and doubled it . they said it would go at least 384 Boone and Crockett. I was one LUCKY hunter. Talk about being at the right place at the right time. I was so glad to have done that hunt with my Dad. He still talks about it. The guide showed me the bite marks of a wolf that the animal had survived from the day before.

Team Members… I am working on major sponsor for our team. They would be providing us some goodies. They are a major player in the archery industry. Does anyone object?

We would have to wear their hat or t-shirt in our photos of our harvest. I will let you know who it is if you pm me.

Hey, hope you all are well. Trail cam pics slowed down, but it has been really hot here lately. Summer just wrapping up. Our daughter is doing a semester overseas so we have been spending a bunch of time just hanging out. Need some deer pics from you guys.

Banner still coming I hope. Wish I could help but not my skill set. Take care. Greg

Well guys opening day was today. My friend got a nice doe with his cross-bow, and i saw a 6 pt still in velvet. It is earn a buck in this section of NJ so i couldn’t shoot him. The afternoon was full of storms and tornado watches some of which actually touched down, so i stayed in. Hopefully Monday i will be back in the tree.
