    We must stir up the pot or through another log on the fire here. Not seeing much from team 14!
    I have nothing big yet. I have a bunch of batclears hanging around in one corner of my woods, but no monster or even what some would call a shooter. This is as big as I have on film, but did see a real nice ten a couple of weeks ago. Like to get him on some film.

    I’d have a hard time passing either one of those bucks up Ron..
    By the time the season opens there both going to be beautiful..

    Everyones defination of “Trophy” is different.
    I say shoot whatever make you happy..  I try to wait for at least a 2-1/2 year old, but last year I was struggling to see anything decent.
    I shot a doe early and then took a Spike on the 2nd to last day of archery season..

    We only have one team member that hasn’t checked in yet..”mexican-redneck”..  Where are ya brother..

    Don’t take me wrong Jerry, I hunt for the meat and if I do not get a doe or two before one of these guys or there smaller brother comes by I will take me meat as I get it. Heck, at my age, I do not even buy green bannans any more, (may not be around when they get ripe{#emotions_dlg.mathews_laughing}) so I also would not mount a deer any more, so if the weather is right and all other factors, a nice fat forky could have a problem. {#emotions_dlg.mathews_arrow}

    “Green Bananas” Too funny..{#emotions_dlg.mathews_laughing}
    Trust me, I wasn’t trying to stir anything up with my comments on Trophys.. I hope you didn’t take it that way..
    I always try to take a couple does for meat and then “try” to hold out for something bigger but it usually doesn’t work out that way..{#emotions_dlg.mathews_big_smile}

    36 more days and it starts…   Man, I got some work to do..

    Hey Guys, I thought I would check in..
    The season is drawing near… I can feel it. {#emotions_dlg.mathews_smile}
    I was able to hang a few stands the last couple of weekends.
    Hopefully this weekend I can get a couple more in..
    I have a trail camera out but won’t be able to check it for another week..
    Got a dozen new arrows and got them fletched and ready to go… There almost to pretty to shoot.{#emotions_dlg.mathews_big_smile}
    That and my “Honey Do” list has kept me quite busy the last few weeks. I gotta get it all done before the season starts..

    I really havn’t given much thought to a team name or banner etc..
    A team name would be nice but I don’t think the banner is a big deal..
    I don’t know how to make one anyway so I wouln’t be of any help.

    Be safe

    I am finaly starting to see some bone on my cameras. No monsters yet but some nice deer. I went up yesterday, but at 90 deg., I did not work on tree stands. I want to brush out a spot for a new tree stand and also a ground blind. Just rode my trails and pulled the chips. Had over 300 hits on a total of five cameras, but only saved about 18.
    ????
    This guy was under my favorite ladder stand. Got one bigger on film, but the picture isreal dark, so no monsters yet. Our season opens in 14 days, but is is way to hot. We are still in a big drought here. Trees are so dry they are some dropping leaves that have turned brown. My pond is down so low my pup could hardley swim in it. I will not start hunting untill about the first week in October. My brother-inlaw donated his real nice pontoon boat to Camp AM. Leagion and I have to haul it up there on the first or second week end of the early season.

    I haven’t done much scouting lately.
    I spent most of Saturday clearing trails on one of our lease properties.
    I pulled the card on my trail camera and only had a few does and fawns on it.
    The batteries died after a week.{#emotions_dlg.mathews_brick_wall} I haven’t had much luck with this camera. If it happens again
    I’ll be making a call to the manufacturer. I’m sure it won’t do any good, but I’ll feel better.
    I won’t be out scouting this weekend either. My group of friend gets together for one last camping trip, adults only.
    The kids spend the weekend with the in-laws.
    Thats my weekly update.
    Be safe guys,
    Jerry

    Our season opens Sat. It is 90+ again today, but should be down to the mid 60′s by Saturday, but I can not get out. My brother-inlaw, donated his butifull pontoon boat that he just put about $9000.00 into, including a brand new 50HP 4-cycle Honda engine on last summer to Camp American Leagion in northern WI. He is 87 years old so I have been selected to take him and the boat up there. The next week-end early duck opens and I have that new pup. Got a hunch I will be working some marsh and creek’s for sunday dinner.{#emotions_dlg.mathews_love}
    Good luck to all who can get out over the next couple of weeks.
