PA congrats on the great buck. I just got my power back after 6 days. I am going hunting in the am. I need to get some normalcy back in my life after a week of ****. Great job to all my team members, i hope to add to it soon.protection of family and friends is far more important than hunting. Glad you’re OK and power is back on.
thanks Forrest. Im very lucky with the minimal loss and the inconveinence of the power loss. Many people here in NJ lost everything, our shore is devastated. Please keep all of us in NJ in your prayers.Got this guy yesterday on a managed archery hunt at Peck Ranch in southern Missouri in big timber and hill country! Conservation aged him at 4.5 years old and I assume was an 8 pointer but his left antler was busted off from fighting. He’s my first legit mature buck harvest with a bow and I double lunged him at 40 yards which is also my longest shot. He was quartering away slightly when I thought he broadside. That made me think I hit him back in the liver so I let him lay for 4 hours before going and finding him but he was dead before my nerves had settled. When he ran off I heard a lot of crashing and two deep breaths and then silence so I thought he was standing over there and about to bed down. It actually his dying breaths and him kicking the leaves where he fell. I’ve lost deer due to looking too quickly so I wanted to be extra cautious on this nice one.
Awesome Seth! Great Buck!!! Tht will keep us int he game.
Looks like 13 more points? Way cool.Just 12 more points. He only counts as a 7 since his antler is busted off so he is just a 3×4.Congrats !!!
Anybody having any luck? I connected with a doe but no dice on retrieval.
the worst part about it is Dad has now banned me form hunting on his property again. (he’s kinda touchy like that sometimes.) I have access to another spot and I went there on Saturday and spooked a couple, but no shot. I will keep trying.I shot another young doe with the bow and a 7 pointer with the rifle making my total 3 with the bow and 1 with the rifle. It’s been a great season so far! Good luck to the rest of the team!
Congrats Seth. You are knocking ‘em dead.
Well? anybody else out playing at all still? I have finally started to see some rutting action here, and a couple good bucks, but alas no buck tag, only a doe. I’ve started focusing the doe hunting on public land timber country in the snow, so I’m not sure how productive it will be. I’ve taken does out of there before in December, so it may work.
Im off the next 5 days. The big bucks are on their feet looking for any does that have not been bread. I hope to be adding some points to our teams total in the near future
Good luck to all and Have a Happy Thanksgiving!Im in yet, Muzzleloader season this week, Then its back to the bow. I plan on adding points
Good luck to everyoneI haven’t hunted in several weeks. I’m starting to get the fire in me to go back out again though. This weekend I plan on getting a couple of game cams out and see if I can get pics of the big boy I’ve been after for a few years. Never have got a pic or seen him during the daytime but he’s good horn porn for the camera anyways.
If I can’t get another buck, I will at least try and knock another doe or two down with the bow. I haven’t even taken a deer off of my best farm where I do the most food plot work. Usually thats where I get the majority of my deer.
Good luck everybody!
Guiding and filming all the kids right now since it’s rifle season. Soon as next week is done it’s Ohio huntin for me. Love them big late season food plot deer over there. Also saving my doe tag for second archery here in PA.AuthorPostsYou must be logged in to reply to this topic.
