    Way to go ib-reel!

    I’ve had a couple of really nice deer so far this season in bow range but passed on them to wait on the bigger ones. Both were 8 points around the 140 class but there are some 160-180 class deer in the area that I hunt, so I think that I will wait on them. :)   Hopefully I’ll get it done here in November. You all don’t count me out though because I’m not spending a lot of time on the Forum, I’m spending most of my free time in the woods!

    Looks like Team 10 is starting to put some good numbers up. Good luck to all of you.

    Good job guys. I’ve been hitting it hard. Passed a couple 3 year olds and a couple 2 year olds. Had a nice 10 25 yards tonight but no shot.  Bucks are finally starting to move here.   Good luck to all of you.

    How is it going guys? HaHa, I think we should have named our team the “Silent Stalkers’! Just wanted to give an update, Indiana’s gun opener was last weekend, I went out that morning with my muzzleloader, I had a nice 8 point come through, but decided to let him pass so I could maybe take him later with my bow, well as the season has gone so far, after he got out of my sight, maybe 5 minutes later I heard a shot from that direction, I am pretty sure I was the second to last person to see him alive lol! I will be on vacation next week, so I will be in the woods pretty much all the time. I will do my best to get us many more points on the board!

    Hey guys, anyone still hunting? I’m still hunting, passed up some truly nice whitetails this year, bigger than i’ve ever passed before. killing the big one last year kind of ruined me. Those 140″ deer seemed small for some stupid reason. Been chasing a 160 plus but only saw him once during the rut. I’d say my chances of killing him this year are dwindling quickly. Passed up a buck that i should of shot, wasn’t the biggest in the woods but a true trophy. He was a 7 year old plus buck. Kick myself for not shooting him when i had a chance. Late October and didn’t want to burn a tag, I got greedy and now i’m very humbled. Keep at it and best of luck to all of you. Deer numbers here in Illinois are way, way down this year. EHD hit very hard in my area.

    Well guys, I hate to say it but I got skunked! I let several 120″ bucks walk early season, and now I am eating tag soup as far as archery goes. Sorry I didnt help our team out at all this year, could have taken several does also, but let them walk for one reason or another. I have learned my lesson though, so if any of us get put together next year, I will be more productive for sure. Congrats to all of you that got deer for us!!!

    Great season overall for our family. I took four does for the freezer (all with my bow) and a fifth for a single mom that is a friend of ours.  My 12 yr old son shot the second buck of  his short hunting career on opening day of gun season ( young 6 pt).  We passed many young bucks over the season and had a few encounters with some good ones ( son could not connect on a nice 8 with his bow)but nothing came together.  For whatever reason we had less day time pics of good bucks then in years past.   Our hunting crew did see some great bucks and hopefully a number of these will make it through until next season and only get bigger.

    Take care {#emotions_dlg.mathews_thumbs_up}
