    I have plenty of time. it usually doesn’t get really good here until the snow flies. Actually just lucky Dad gave me permission to hunt this year.  He’s a little leery about hunting here on his property as I actually kill things. :) He’s may be getting a little soft in his old age… :)

    It seems like 8 pointers seem to be the predominant genetics here. :)

    Thanks for the positivity. :)

    Sooo no buck sightings this weekend. Could have killed a little mulie spike at 20 yards repeatedly but chose to photo him instead. I still have time. I have 4 days in the any weapon season left and then I have to take a break until Nov. 1st.  Anybody else out and about?

    Meant to say last week when I took the picture, no buck sightings last weekend. I’m all fumble fingered today. :)

    I went out this past weekend on a few doe missions but no luck on a big one…I had a 5 point and a little button buck walk within shooting distance but the does stayed just out of range.{#emotions_dlg.mathews_brick_wall} It’s funny how that works…if I wanted to shoot a buck then the does would have come in close and the bucks just out of range.

    I’m looking forward to this upcoming weekend…I will be able to shoot bucks again…looking for an upgrade for us.{#emotions_dlg.mathews_peace}

    Good luck guys.

    Well all… I am forced to take a break until the 1st of Novemeber. The good thing is that any weapon will be over and it goes back to archery only. I haven’t been seeing any bucks on camera for a while, But I am seeing some scrape activity on the place now. It should be getting better here. :) Anybody else been out playing? It’s been pretty quiet in here for a while… :)

    I went out this weekend and had a couple of great hunts…no shots were taken but saw one of the biggest bucks I have ever seen on this farm.{#emotions_dlg.mathews_big_smile}

    Over the past two weeks I have gotten several pics of I think is a 3 1/2 year old 8 point…but they are all at night, so I figured he was nocturnal and would never see him during shooting light. Well…Saturday afternoon there he was about 75 yards out in front of me and he seemed to be coming right towards me.{#emotions_dlg.mathews_cool} He got within 50 yards then turned and kept feeding away from me…{#emotions_dlg.mathews_doah}. I grunted at him a few times, he looked my way but was not interested…yet. I hope I see again soon but a little closer.{#emotions_dlg.mathews_praying}

    However, I did have a smaller 8 come in within 15 yards a little bit later in which I was struggling with to shoot or not…I decided to hold off for now in hopes of getting a crack at the bigger one. I will be back at it this weekend.{#emotions_dlg.mathews_thumbs_up}

    Hey everyone. I haven’t been on in a while. Things have been kind of busy. I have only been able to make it out a couple times so far. But I did take a doe this morning from a ground blind. The arrow found its mark perfectly in the pocket of her front shoulder, she made two jumps and stood there trying to figure out what happened. She died about 25 feet from where I shot her. No tracking needed, I got to watch it all. It was an absolutely beautiful morning.

    That will be 5 more points on the board as soon as I get the pictures to Vince.

    I plan (if it is in Gods plan) on getting out quite a few times over the next couple weeks. The games should be starting here pretty soon and I am looking forward to the show in all its glory.

    Good luck to everyone, stay safe and may God Bless all of you!

    Opening day for Archery only again tomorrow. Starting to see some scrape ad rub action. No buck pics on camera though…but their patterns have chaged a little, and so have mine. :) 49 days left until end of season and the cold crappy weather is here. :) Here we go.
