Oh and did I mention that my team also won the 2013 turkey contest? It would be awesome to pull off a double in the same year. This team looks pretty good, lets have some fun.
That would be sweet to win both contests in the same year…we will see what we can do.
I’m on vacation right now with the family but as soon as i get back I plan on checking the cameras and see what kind of bucks I have this year. The farm i hunt has a lot of deer on it just never seem to be many big bucks…not that I mind I don’t consider myself a trophy hunter…even a doe gets me fired up.
However, my good friend just got a new piece to hunt and he sent me a few pics of a few real nice bucks and he said he will take me there. In NJ the first two weeks are earn a buck so as soon as I close the deal on a doe…we go.Still no points for me, but I have been out twice since season opener. I could have shot a cow elk on the opener, but I passed for several reasons. The most relevant, there was a bull bugling just behind her. One of my goals this year was to take a bear from ground with the ghostblind, of which I succeeded last night. Here is a pic. I promise I will focus on deer after elk, we need burger. the freezer is really low.Congrats on the bear Forrest…you are off to a great season.Very Nice buck switchy.
Dad called me after dark and informed me of an estimated 150-160 class buck in the alfalfa field by the house after dark last night. I may go sit the Island tonight and see if I can intercept. Elk can wait a couple days.
Location: OhioYes indeed! Very nice buck Switchy.
I will be checking my cameras this Friday. Hopefully I will have something to share.Z-7 65# 30"Hey all, Points to share. tagged out on the extra antlerless tag last night with a big fatty nanny doe. 5 points and jerky. I know, truck pics suck, but I was in a hurry this morning. Vince, time to add a team standings and photo thread.
Congrats Forrest on a great doe …way to get us started.
Location: LouisianaCongrats on the slickhead Forrest… You don’t even look like you were hunting… haha… I guess you don’t need camo when you have a ghost blind!!
May have to invest in one of those someday.Mathews Switchback XT!
