I know this is top secret stuff but what are your thoughts on whether or not Mathews will release a new target bow this fall?

Im torn. Sure a new MR7 in a longer ATA would be great, but the Apex/Conquest line is still holding it’s own and my A7 is my favorite bow. I guess we will have to wait till the first of the year to find out ](*,)

I think we may see something on that order or maybe a longer ATA HeliM. :thumbup [-o|

I’ve said all along that the Triumph could have been a success if Mathews would’ve/could’ve done three things different:

    1. Keep the price under $1k
    2. Put a roller guard on it
    3. Named it the Z7 LD

This would be 3 things I’d still do for another longer a2a bow. Maybe make it 37″ instead of 39″ so the DLD guys would finally think of upgrading too

As long as that longer ATA bow came with longer draw lengths, I would be all over it like white on rice :X :X :X Helim is the best bow Mathews has had out in a long time :thumbup

What are the reasons the Triumph was taken from the 2012 line? Seems like folks I know who have/had a Triumph liked them. ??

    :agree

By Target Bow, I mean other than a 3D bow.

I don’t see a HeliM target bow … what’s the purpose if a 30″+ stabilizer with offset V-bars is going to be added with weights to get the mass weight up, eh?

The draw stop is a good thing for a target bow. I never understood why it was really needed on a hunting bow that would rarely take a shot over 50 yds at a target with a 6″ dia. heart and 9″ dia. lungs. For the miniscule improvement in accuracy, a draw stop only makes sense on a target bow. [-(

String angle relates to stability or instability in string path, so greater string angle is a benefit for a target bow. I just don’t see beyond parallel limbs making for a good target bow since the riser has to be a “Louisville Slugger” to get a decent string angle. A longer riser means more riser deflection under torque. Perhaps limb pocket angles more like the Conquest Apex/Prestige would achieve the string angle needed while keeping riser length reasonable.

Just too much reflex in Mathews risers for a good target bow, IMHO. Maybe sacrifice a bit of speed for a shorter riser with less reflex would be in order for 2013?

… but Mathews does need a Target Bow for Indoor and Outdoor FITA. JMHO [=}=]

I’m slowly falling in love with a used C4 I purchased for spots….but I’d love to see a similar bow only 36-37″ ata with 7″ BH 8D

I agree on the Triumph comments, but they never took off with any of the Mathews shooters around my area

Im shooting an Ovation right now. I have had several newer Mathews bows, but the solid wall is what I dig about the Ovation. I shoot it much better than my A7. Now I am waiting to see what happens in a few hours, but if the new rigs don’t have a positive draw stop, I will be ordering a HeliM for my 3-D rig for next season.
Many people don’t understand why you would want a light bow for target shooting. It allows you to put more weight at the end of your stabilizers where it actually does some work.

I’ve been told the new McPherson bow has reduced the weight under 4 lbs, and improved the balance, redesigned the cam with a solid wall, increased the range of draw length modules, and will be fast, much faster than a HeliM … maybe one of the best 3D bows to come along since the Apex7, eh?

We will know in a few hours. :thumbup

If that is true, one will be ordered tomorrow morning.
