Alright here I go again, deciding on a new climber. Anyway, I have decided on purchasing a summit. I have some back/sciatic nerve problems and I need comfort so you guys led me in the direction of summit. Well, I got to sit in a few of them at the outdoor store the other day and I think I found my favorite out of the bunch but I have some concerns. SO here is a poll I do not want to know necessarily what you use, but what summit you guys would get instead of the summit you currently use if you are not 100 % satisfied with the current summit you got. Is the front bar is getting in your way for shots and if so would you buy a different summit if you had to do it all over again?

Thanks in advance guys for any and all replies

I have the goliath , and would not trade it for anything..No the front does not get in your way , if you stand up to shoot..You can adjust the seat to sit up high or low..I feel secure in the stand , I can fall asleep and not worry about falling out..If your worried about the bar , you should get the Razor..The front bar is adjustable on that model..IMO

I sat in the goliath and the viper. I am 220 6′ so I am not really all that big of a fella, but, the Goliath felt right but the viper felt just about as good. I am eyeing the razor but I like the way the padding wraps around the goliath’s front. I am just not sure about the razor though. It seems like most people here are using the viper, I’m guessing because of the cost, but I am drawn towards the goliath but the razor I’m thinking would be best for bowhunting. I am just confused why most people are using the closed front stands vs. the open fronts for bowhunting.

I’m 6’5.5″ 330lbs and hate heights,,It’s more of a safe feeling factor foor me..,And a nice brace when you have to get that extra inch while your stretching out to get the shot. Plus on a long sit in the stand, The rail acts as a great footrest while taking a nap ;)

But, if you had one slip in right under ya, there would be considerable movement (stand, draw) vs. being able to stay sitting and then the draw.
