I got an SQ2 about five years ago and have never changed my string. I did however get my cable changed about two seasons ago. With the way my job is I almost cant justify getting a new string right now but decide to drop my bow off at my local bow shop. I got it check over and asked if I needed a new string and the guy at the bow shop said no mine looks to be in good shape. My only worry is I don’t want the string to snap and knock out and eye. So my question to you is what are the string changing intervals and do you think I can make it through one more season with my 5 year old string. It already cost me $50 to get my bow set up for this season and I am kinda worried since I have been reading alot of catastrophic string failures lately.
Any help or info would be awesome.
Other than that I hope to be hunting in the second week of KYs archery season. I just pray my string doesn’t snap on me…
It looks pretty good to me. But I dont know if I have the eye for it or not. Its been waxed since about day one and its been either in the garage or in my house so I guess the temps have stayed semi consistant.
