I was curious if anyone has shot a mechanical broadhead through the window mesh? I’ve shot fixed blade through them fine, but wondering if the mechanicals would cut a big enough opening for the fletchings, or even deploy. I shoot schwakers, and i dont think they would deploy, but im not sure if they would cut an opening big enough for the fletchings. figured I’d ask before i send $30 through the window and miss the target because my fletchings caught the meshJust bought a Ameristep Bone Collector Blind, It has shoot through mesh but I don’t plan on using them. It would have to be close before I would shoot through mesh.I don’t think mechanicals would be very reliable through mesh. I have no experience with this, it’s just my opinion.

Turkeys just don’t seem to care about that black hole in the blind. Deer, yes! Turkeys, no.It's not how far you shoot, but how close you get.I was curious if anyone has shot a mechanical broadhead through the window mesh? INMHO: If they don’t deploy, they won’t open a hole big enough for fletching unless you’re using feathers; but that being said; I’ve never tried em. Just doesn’t seem logical.
BuckeyeBowman is correct. Deer care/turkeys don’t.
Since you were thinking about shooting a hole in one anyway, I’d test a mesh window with the Swaks. Nothing beats playing around to see what actually happens. Set up a target close to the blind and have at it. If it gets snagged, it won’t go far and will probably hit a close target anyway.
Ya Its for Turkey huntin. I’m considering shooting the bullhead, and if I go with that the windows are open for sure. Last years turkey I shot through the mesh, but with a fixed blade. Guess i’ll fiddle around and see what happens.Ya Its for Turkey huntin. I’m considering shooting the bullhead, and if I go with that the windows are open for sure.
