There has been alot of talk about rage broadheads.Have any of you tried the original.I have, they worked flawlessly for me.I shot 2 black bear(passthroughs),one elk(tip poked hide on other side),two whitetail bucks(passthroughs).Major blood loss,5 star blood trail,no deflection, all except the elk were quarting away shots. For the extra money I would not buy the rages. Two inch cut just means less penetration, need more kinetic energy. The snypers are a 1-3/8″ cut wich is more than enough.I would not be suprised if some of the rage issues I have seen on here were just too little kinetic energy for that large of a cut.

I killed my first big buck with the Snypers, got a complete passthrough, and the blood trail rocked. Both are very similar broadheads, and have the same concept behind them. I believe the Rage’s Shoulders are slightly wider than the original Snyper. The blade retention system is a bit different with the O-Ring and all. Snypers are still made BTW! [=}=]

I think they’re both great broadheads. :thumbup However, I shoot the Rage’s because I have plenty of KE for the 2″ cut. I want as big of holes as I can get… [=}=] :thumbup

I know I had some bent ferrules and tips on Snypers……..and quit using them . I also saw a lot of posts with the same results as me !

I have not seen those issues with the Rage’s ! In fact I have mostly only seen positive feedback on the 2 blade Rage’s !! [=}=]

I shot a Big Doe Monday eve 10/8/07 with a 2 blade Rage, Massive hole easy blood trail, but also a perfect shot that probably had the same results with any Broad head. I also witnessed a small Buck that my Daughter-in-law shot on 10/6/07 her first with her new Dren. she hit it a little back with great results it cut the liver almost in half the buck went 35 yards at most with massive blood trail. Both broad heads recovered and seemed to be in good shape other than to have the blades replaced. WICKED!!! :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup

killed my first 2 deer with the RM Snypers. Nice hole and plenty of a blood trail but why not use a head thats just the same but makes a bigger hole :D

I have used the Snyper and loved em.. I’m going to try the Rage this year.. I’ll be able to give a more informed opinion after a couple of kills. I don’t think you can wrong with either.. :thumbup

We’ve used Sypers with success. Haven’t laid eyes on a Rage. What I don’t get is why the Gator did’nt catch on like the Rage has. Really the same head. If I run out of Snypers and they stop making them, I would try a Rage. I got nothing against them, but I’ll keep using what I have. The only complaint is the tip blades, wish they could make them with a “trocar” or chisel type point.

I need to crunch the numbers on your set-up Chad………………..looks a little low, maybe you should stick with a 2 blade cut on contact. :whistle :whistle :whistle

Between the 2, I like the blade angle of the Snypers more [=}=]

Don’t know yet. First year for Rage, I might have to shoot a Doe this year to try em out. Tag soup last year waiting for Mr. Big. I won’t shoot small bucks, Rather shoot a Doe..
