Hello, I was wondering what the process would be to remove and reinstall a string grub on some aftermarket strings

They slide right off since they are not crimped on and then use a flattened out paper clip to slide them on the new ones with pliers holding the paper clip once you slide the grub over it and onto the string by the eyelets. If you do not have serving in the spot you need to install them tie a knot on the string and slide the grub over it. Also I like to use a chrono to verify the exact location of the grub before I completely tie it in with about 10 half hitch knots with a double knot. To do this I leave the first knot a little loose so I can adjust it as needed until it is in the “sweet spot” and then mark the spot and replace it with a permanent one. For a monster I do this on both ends before I tie them in.

Can previously used string grubs be reinstalled on a new string? If so, I am not clearly understanding how to slide them on the new string and how to tie them. How exactly are they exactly put on where there is serving in the position they need to be?
