Expecting a company to alter production that is full steam ahead is in my opinion unreasonable. Using their private forum to voice your very aggrevated opinion is not only unreasonable but also distastefull.

So how else can the opinion of a customer be heard? I’m hoping to improve a product…not hurt it or be distasteful.

And to change colors for an anodized piece of metal can’t involved more than putting the piece in this vat of chemicals instead of that vat. They already color the main portion of the cam a neutral color…just throw the rest of the cam in with it. Simple.

seriously… I wouldn’t take the chance hunting there in full camo if people are that trigger happy..

I appreciate how some are taking hunter safety so seriously. 8-|

It is serious, and it is important. You can control your own actions, but not that of someone else in the woods with you. Heck, Dick Chaney shot his own hunting partner, and he KNEW he was hunting with him.

I take hunter safety very seriously, but some of you young fellows get all too hetup about this camo thingy.. believe it or not… and it can be proven… :D we did kill animals before RealTree and Mossy Oak… and we did it wearing red flannel, and khaki with lacquered limbs and risers on 64” plus bows..

I fondled me one of them new Z7’s and I actually had to look to see all this RED y’all is talking about…

But from where you is hunting I reckon the woods is alive with gun fire, what with folks shooting every red leaf and berry in the bushes… ;)

I could do without the red but its not a deal breaker. I liked the traditional gold mathews logo on the limbs, but I got used to lookin the white letters on em, so I guess this will grow on me too. It’s small stuff, bling is in, it sells, so i guess thats that. [=}=]

Perhaps I should not have started this topic with a rant. I apologize.

I am a little frustrated by the current trend of coloring bows by all manufacturers.

I do think that a non-red version of the Z7 would be a good option, and an easy option for Mathews to provide.

I would see this as a product improvement.

However it will create an additional product sku and require more warehouse space for the additional parts.

Are you going to be waving your bow around at the turkey? It doesn’t have that much red on the bow. You can change the dampners to black and the little bit of red on the cam isn’t going to create a dangerous situation.

Have you ever hunted in a heavily hunted public hunting area? That is the majority of my hunting, and I don’t want ANY red on me when I do.

Another question…Will having the red portion of your cam recolored to a dark color, with a pen or through anodization as some have suggested, void your warrenty??[/quote]

Stripping the cam and re-anodizing it will void your warranty. Should you decide to just use a marker and darken it up, I guess that is up to you.

I think it is the black bow craze. All the super tuned bows dressed to kill are blacked out with neon green or red. They look very sharp to me on a black bow. On a camo bow they look a bit out of place. Maybe no one is buying camo any more. :)

If I was going to complain about the looks of the Z it would be the wide
(or deep) riser web. Mathews is known for sexy bows and the proportions are off a little on that one. It’s like anything new, I’ll get use to it in time.

Everyones either happy or disappointed with the new bows every year. I dont mind hearing about either. I would buy (and have till I learned my lesson) a new Mathews every year if it was what I want. The last two years have not yielded anything for me to take seriously but there is always next year [-o| As for you not liking the red all I know to tell you is get over it or deal with it because complaining about it on here will get you absolutley nowhere.

I agree and have cast my vote against the red. I think the riser looks stupid and the red makes it even more goofy. Sorry I have been shooting mathews for years. Full camo is my choice. I think the fella should not be bashed for what he has to say. Guys this is a poll about the color. An all camo version should be avaliable and would not take a lot to make. It is about the consumer and from the poll more want the red gone then like it so that should say something. :p :p :p

Im not real crazy about the red myself. I dont think it goes well with the camo. On the all black it would look good.

The thing i didn’t like about the bow is the small “picture” or sticker next to the roller gaurd. To me it just starts to make the bow look cheap. I hated Martin bows for years because of this (when they put the pictures of tigers and such on the bow).
