Will there be an option to get the Z7 WITHOUT the red all over it?

I want a hunting bow. I don’t want a bow with jewelry on it. I don’t want a bow that is trying to make a fashion statement. I don’t want bright colors that might give me away to my quarry. If you like that, fine. But on a hunting bow, I want camo and neutral colors.

I especially do not want RED!!!

Red on a hunter is dangerous. :!: That is the color of a turkey’s head. One of the first things I learned in hunter’s education is NOT to go waving any red around…especially during spring turkey…but anytime is a bad idea. It is not safe!!!

Mathews, the Z7 is a fine bow, but PLEASE give us hunters an option for a camo/neutral colored bow that both animals and other people aren’t going to notice in the forests. It can’t cost anymore to make things black or brown.

    Thanks. [-o|

By the way, before anyone jumps me for being a 1st time poster, I used to post to this forum a few years ago, under the same name, when I was learning how to setup my Outback. Apparently, you lose access after a while of no activity.

Good points, but i wouldnt single out the Z7

I’d direct it at all mfgr’s! Seems everyone needs bling now so they can compete with the others on the racks of multi-brand shops :thumbdown

People hunt with NEON colored strings, and accessories NEON vanes and WRAPS BOWSLINGS…. And the deer they kill don’t notice… What colors are your fletchings? brown and black?

Personally it doesn’t bother me. I’m just happy to be getting one. :thumbup

If it’s this much of a issue for you, it wouldn’t take much effort, or cost to have them anodized to black or to another color of your desire. But, I can 100% guarantee you if any game see’s any red on your Z7, it’s been looking at you long before. ;)

I don’t hunt with Neon anything. My fletchings and strings are nuetral colors as well. I agree that it won’t matter much for deer…but try turkey hunting with a bow with Neon colors. They see everything.

But, then there is the safety issue of turkey hunting with red on you. You are just asking for a load of #4’s or #5’s from someone that way.

I don’t intend this to be a “bash Mathews” or “bash the Z7 bow”. Again, even thought the forum says “first time poster”, I have posted here before. I think Mathews is a great company, I shoot a Mathews (Outback), and think the Z7 is great, innovative design.

But, I am trying to offer improvements, and I want to see if others agree.

As other’s have pointed out…This “bling” idea is not just a Mathews problem. For those that like your bling, I think it is great that you can get it. But, I think hunters that do not want “bling” should have the option to not have it. If not…why even offer a camo bow if you are going to decorate it like a christmas tree? Why not make the whole bow red, or neon, or barber poll candy striped?? :D

The red doesn’t bother me a bit [=}=]

    1. Deer (and most animals for that matter) can’t see red
    2. Almost all (would venture to say about 98% or so) of the archery turkey hunters hunt them from a blind.
    3. Deer CAN see white, yet a vast majority of hunters use that color for fletching, etc.

Are you going to be waving your bow around at the turkey? It doesn’t have that much red on the bow. You can change the dampners to black and the little bit of red on the cam isn’t going to create a dangerous situation.

    Dont buy the bow.
Buy it and deal with it.

Them’s your choices as I see it.

Have you ever hunted in a heavily hunted public hunting area? That is the majority of my hunting, and I don’t want ANY red on me when I do.

Another question…Will having the red portion of your cam recolored to a dark color, with a pen or through anodization as some have suggested, void your warrenty??

Whatever happened to “Customer Satisfaction”, “Customer Service”, and “The Customer is Always Right”.

I don’t think I am asking for anything unreasonable here.

Expecting a company to alter production that is full steam ahead is in my opinion unreasonable. Using their private forum to voice your very aggrevated opinion is not only unreasonable but also distastefull.

I would like to know where you are hunting so that I can stay out of that area. Know your target and beyond!
