No. It takes less than 3 pounds of pressure to make them open. I poor hit is a poor hit no matter what head you use

I’m currently using Tekan II because they are designed a little better. The blades stay closed in my quiver, you can change the blades very easy without tools, they are designed to penetrate. they will retain the blades when shot thru steel drums, etc.
The Rage II is a great product too. I haven’t desided about the 3 blade though. I think the furel may be a little weak with all of the metal they removed and that’s why they are having issues with them bust’n up and lossing blades at times. Reguradless of what you read I thing is’t only a problem on bone hist. I’d still rather they keep the blade though. On the steel drum test all three blades come off the the fural is totally distroyed. I’ve not read anything bad about them lately and so far only found two complaints about blade issues. Both were a single blade that broke off. I haven’t found any cases of this happening with the two blade version.
I’m sure you already know but just in case you don’t…don’t expect to be able to change the blades out on a rage. Shooting them damages the threads on the retaining screw causing it to be locked in place.

Joined: 2/22/2007I’ve shot both heads and I’ll say Rage all the way. This is the first year I’ve ever shot a mechanical and I was very skeptical until I shot the first doe with it. This is the entry.
Joined: 3/24/2005This is the first year i have used rage 2 blades & i am very very impressed. They leave some ungodly holes, bloodtrails are just crazy & the deer fall within sight. They will be in my quiver for many seasons to come. Here is the entry & exit holes of a doe a shot this morning with the rage 2 blades. [/b:2ixxkfch]
Joined: 4/1/2005Rage 2Muzzy are dependable as they get!! All it really comes down to it is what you hit on the way in or through not how big of a hole u can punch through. I could shoot a bowling ball out a cannon and get a huge blood trail but thats not what i’m about. No matter what they both will put meet in the freezer.
