I have a 3×5′ fabric filled target in the back that has taken a ton of shots and I’m now making a smaller one for the basement. On the one that I already made, most everything that I used for filling had buttons, zippers, and rivets removed. I don’t know if it’s really necessary to go through the bother. I’m shooting GT XT Hunters. Does anyone have any input regarding the hardware? Thanks for sharing.

My cloth targets still have all the buttons, etc… on them. I do cut off the big zippers, but I’m not sure why…
    The end is near....

I’ve had a few arrows damaged by not removing the hardware. It is worth the effort in the long run.

I use baled fiber-fill scraps from a local sleeping bag company. Cost is about $25 per 65# bale, and takes a little over 1/2 bale to fill a Morrell Outdoor Replacement Cover.

For a couple of bucks more, you can get the Outdoor XXL replacement cover.

Thanks Brian. As usual, you’ve provided just the right words to make it an easy decision. Just a couple of months ago I dumped what would have half-filled my current project. This one is on casters salvaged from a discarded chair.
