However, video now shows at least one satchel was on the ‘security side’ of the barricade, next to a mail box, unattended, not unlike the Olympic bombing. Just what have we learned, or more pointedly, just what have we forgotten?
I discount the BPD comment that they could not clamp down on the Boston Marathon like a police state, because an unattended satchel on the ‘security side’ of the barricade doesn’t take a Police State Mentality to investigate.
Yeah, nobody connected the dots, the security was lowered, complacency had set in, and the authorities are deflecting responsibility.
It would seem this is the worst of all scenarios … not Al Qaeda or some other organized group with bomb experience and sophistication, not some nut-job with a manifesto, like the Uni-Bomber, but rather a psychopath bent on making the world suffer like he/she suffers … an eye for an eye, the more dead the better … no other rationale but to inflict pain, otherwise why build bombs that are anti-personnel and plant them indiscriminately, eh?brian, i agree 100% with your views.black z7 magnum, tommy hogg,qad,b-stingers, vaportrail: blue smoke triumph,sword,hamskae,b-stingers:desert tactical chill R, tommy hogg, limbdriver pro v,ktech

Location: Quantum LeapvilleBrian raises a very good point. Have we forgotten so quickly the fact that terrorists or individual psychopaths are out there bent on the slaughter of innocents? And no, as Brian states, we do not need a police state to provide “common sense” security. No right-minded person in the free democracies of the world wants a police state, but what we should expect is that those paid to provide security carry out their duties in a conscientious, dedicated manner. This is not to blame any one individual security officer but rather to ask that our various security agencies operate in harmony so that threats can be minimized, if not eliminated. I do not pretend to know the facts of this tragic event, but I do know that in Canada, the U.S., and elsewhere there is still too much turf protection among our various security and intelligence organizations.
Again, my deepest sympathies and prayers for those killed and maimed and their families and friends. You are now reading my signature.
Joined: 2/4/2007for all the innocent victims of such a cowardly act .News is coming out they’ve made an arrest… no idea if this is accurate or another rush to beat the masses to a headline…
If they do have the guy, there should be a warm place in **** for him…Now on one news station they say they have made an arrest and on another the feds are saying no they have not arrested anyone but are looking to identify the person they feel is involved with those two bags. I guess they have a good enough photo to identify him but are combing through available records and other files looking to match him up.
I bet this (.) is waiting for a shoot out.
